    Abstract: An open cable broadcast processing apparatus which includes a tuner is provided. The apparatus further includes: a signal processor which selectively processes at least one media data received through a broadcasting signal based on media setting information; an interface which outputs a tuning command according to a channel changing command of an application when the application is received; and a controller which prestores media identification information on at least one media data supplied through respective channels, controls the tuner to change a first channel to a second channel according to the tuning command output from the interface, and sets the media setting information to process reference media data among the at least one media data received through the other channel, based on the media identification information. Thus, the open cable broadcast processing apparatus can reduce time to change a channel by an application.

    Abstract: A broadcast reception device performing image/sound-related settings. The broadcast reception device includes an application part which executes an application program, a platform part which executes an Application Program Interface (API) for image-related and sound-related settings if the application part calls the image-related and sound-related setting API, and a function module part which implements a function corresponding to the API executed in the platform. If the image-related and sound-related setting API is a non-standard API, the application part directly calls the standard API requesting for a list of the non-standard API, and the platform part provides the non-standard API list to the application part. Accordingly, if the non-standard API is selected out of the list, the platform part executes the selected non-standard API.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a display apparatus and a control method thereof which can more efficiently protect a user by originally interrupting a view limitation broadcast program by interrupting a broadcast in advance before the broadcast is interrupted by a view limitation function. A display apparatus includes a broadcast output part for outputting at least one of a video and a sound; a processor processing the broadcast signal to supply to the broadcast output part; a user input part for converting a channel; and a controller for controlling the processor so that a broadcast program of a converted channel is not output through the broadcast output part, during a predetermined determining time when it is determined whether the broadcast program based on the broadcast signal of the converted channel is a view limitation program on the basis of the rating information.
