Abstract: An emergency alert apparatus for providing stimuli such as alarms, lights, and data transmission to alert others to an emergency includes a garment which locks onto a user via a lock mechanism. An alert assembly is mounted to the garment and may include speakers, light emitters, data transmission electronics, and the like. An actuator is provided which triggers the alert assembly to exhibit stimuli intended to draw attention to the user. The alert assembly continues to exhibit the stimuli when the actuator is returned to an initial state and terminates the stimuli when the lock mechanism is unlocked.
