  • Patent number: 9198099
Abstract: Devices, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods scheduling subscription procedures on a wireless communication device are described. According to some embodiments, the wireless communication device communicates with a first subscription. The wireless communication device can perform a concurrent burst-level tune-away procedure with a second subscription. The wireless communication device also returns to communication with the first subscription. The tune-away procedure enables a communication device to interact with multiple subscriptions (e.g., multiple SIM-based subscriptions). Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 9049723
Abstract: Methods are provided that optimize Voice over Adaptive Multi-user channels on One Slot (VAMOS) communications by recognizing that up to four independent communications are located on the same device, and assigning them to sub-channels of the same VAMOS channel. A VAMOS-capable multi-SIM wireless device such as a dual-SIM dual active (DSDA) device may have up to four simultaneous active calls on the same access network. When assigned to the same VAMOS channel, the up to four active calls may be merged to all use the same radio on the device.

  • Patent number: 8903372
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices providing a framework which reduces the amount of switching required by single transceiver hardware chain mobile devices operating multiple cellular technology and/or service stacks. The various embodiments enable two or more service stacks on the mobile device of various cellular technologies (e.g., 3GPP GSM, UMTS, LTE, WCDMA, etc), to share information, such as network measurements. The various embodiments may also enable one service stack to perform procedures for and provide information to another service stack.

  • Patent number: 8885557
Abstract: To reduce the effectiveness of eavesdropping attacks, a filler such as one utilized in a data frame for link-layer LAPDm signaling may be dynamically selected to utilize a first bit pattern (first filler) generated utilizing a first algorithm when the transmissions are unencrypted, and to utilize a second bit pattern (second filler) generated utilizing a second algorithm different from the first algorithm when the transmissions are encrypted.

  • Publication number: 20140243037
Abstract: Devices, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods scheduling subscription procedures on a wireless communication device are described. According to some embodiments, a channel condition metric is obtained by the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device determines a number of uplink bursts to be transmitted at a non-reduced transmit power level based on the channel condition metric. The determined number uplink bursts are transmitted at the non-reduced transmit power level. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 8571133
Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for transmitting a signal within a predetermined spectral mask defining a range of power density limits across a frequency range. A signal source provides an input signal to a low-pass filter, which filters the input signal to produce a filtered signal. The filter is selectively operable in a first mode in which the input signal is filtered within a narrower bandwidth, and in a second mode in which the input signal is filtered within a broader bandwidth. The filtered signal is output to a modulator, which modulates the filtered signal to produce a modulated signal. The modulated signal is output to a transmitter, which transmits the modulated signal.

  • Publication number: 20100203854
Abstract: The present patent application comprises a transmitting method and apparatus 240. A signal source 241 provides an input signal to a low-pass filter 242 which filters the input signal to produce a filtered signal. The filter 242 is selectively operable in a first mode in which the input signal is filtered within a narrower bandwidth; and in a second mode in which the input signal is filtered within a broader bandwidth. The filtered signal is output to a modulator 243 which modulates the filtered signal to produce a modulated signal. The modulated signal is output to a transmitter 244 which transmits the modulated signal.
