  • Publication number: 20250127055
Abstract: A light-emitting element including a first electrode, a second electrode provided on the first electrode, and an emission layer provided between the first electrode and the second electrode, a display device and a fused polycyclic compound are provided. The emission layer includes a fused polycyclic compound that may be a dopant material (e.g., thermally activated delayed fluorescence dopant). The emission layer may further include second to fourth compounds. The fused polycyclic compound has a pentacyclic core that includes three aromatic rings fused by one boron and two nitrogen atoms. At least one substituent on the pentacyclic core is an electron-donating, tricyclic fused ring and is connected at a para-position with respect to boron. Due to steric demand the molecular shape of the fused polycyclic compound becomes twisted, which results in modulation of the difference between singlet and triplet energy states and the rate of reverse inter-system crossing of the fused polycyclic compound.
