  • Publication number: 20140141181
Abstract: A process is provided for embossing a fibrous sheet with rainbow or hologram images, without the use of elevated temperatures, or the use of pre-wetting or softening agents.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 25, 2013
    Publication date: May 22, 2014
Inventors: Munzer Makansi, Andries Don Sebastian
  • Publication number: 20050239675
Abstract: A carrier fluid foam, which enhances the functional performance of liquids containing one or more special active agents to accomplish specific tasks such as cleaning and disinfecting, contains a liquid mixture of the functional active agent and a surfactant and has a particular combination of foam syneresis value, foam horizontal thickness half-life, and vertical wall clingability, and compared to liquids containing the same active agents, provides superior performance, normally without scrubbing. The carrier fluid foam is produced by vigorous agitation of the liquid mixture which contains the active agent and a surfactant in the presence of a gas, or by injection of a pressurized propellant into an aerosol dispenser containing such liquid mixture and then passing the liquid/propellant mix through a mechanical break-up actuator in the valve assembly of the aerosol dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20050008576
Abstract: A carrier fluid foam, which enhances the functional performance of liquids containing one or more functional active agents such as cleaners, lubricants, agricultural chemicals, household chemicals, industrial chemicals, institutional chemicals, medicinal chemicals, cosmetic chemicals and pharmaceutical chemicals, contains a solution of the functional active agent and a surfactant and has a particular combination of foam syneresis value, foam horizontal thickness half-life, and vertical wall clingability, and compared to liquids containing the same active agents, provides superior performance, normally without scrubbing. The carrier fluid foam is produced by vigorous agitation of the solution containing the active agent and a surfactant in the presence of a gas, or by injection of a pressurized propellant into an aerosol dispenser containing such solution and then passing the solution/propellant mix through a mechanical break-up actuator in the valve assembly of the aerosol dispenser.

  • Patent number: 6756352
Abstract: An aqueous cleaning composition fluid foam containing an alkali metal hypochlorite has a particular combination of precursor solution relative viscosity, foam syneresis value, foam horizontal thickness half-life and foam vertical wall clingability, and compared to known hypochlorite-containing cleaning compositions, provides superior cleaning of stubborn mildew, normally without scrubbing. The cleaning composition fluid foam is produced by vigorous agitation of an aqueous hypochlorite solution containing an alkaline builder and a surfactant in the presence of a gas, or by injection of a pressurized propellant into an aerosol dispenser containing such solution and then passing the solution/propellant mix through a mechanical break-up actuator in the valve assembly of the aerosol dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20030227099
Abstract: An improved process is provided for creating a rainbow and/or hologram image on a thermoplastic fibrous sheet or polymeric film by embossing a diffraction grating and/or hologram groove pattern from an embossing shim onto the sheet or film. An embossing shim of flexible polymeric film is employed rather than a hard metal shim, as had been used heretofore.

  • Publication number: 20030198783
Abstract: A fibrous sheet has an outer surface of fibrous elements embossed with a pattern of fine grooves that are substantially aligned from fibrous element to fibrous element, and which produces rainbow and/or hologram images on exposure to light. A thin layer of metal, deposited atop the embossed pattern of grooves, intensifies the rainbow and/or hologram images and significantly increases the resistance of the sheet to dry-cleaning-induced degradation of the images.

  • Patent number: 6120710
Abstract: A process is provided for making a fibrous sheet that produces rainbow and/or hologram images. A sheet having an outer surface composed of fibrous elements has its outer surface embossed with a pattern of fine grooves that are substantially aligned from fibrous element to fibrous element. In contrast, prior fabrics for producing rainbow or hologram images were laminated to plastic or metal foils having pre-embossed patterns of grooves. Sheets and fabrics of the present invention are free from such impermeable foils and retain desirable attributes of breathability and other aesthetic qualities.

  • Patent number: 5882770
Abstract: A fibrous sheet is provided with an outer surface having fibrous elements which are embossed with a pattern of fine grooves that are substantially aligned from fibrous element to fibrous element. The pattern of fine grooves is embossed directly on the surface of the fibrous sheet and produces rainbow and/or hologram images on exposure to light. In contrast, prior fabrics for producing rainbow or hologram images were laminated to plastic or metal foils having pre-embossed patterns of grooves. Sheets and fabrics of the present invention are free from such impermeable foils and retain desirable attributes of breathability and other aesthetic qualities.

  • Patent number: 4529368
Abstract: An apparatus for melt-spinning and cross-flow quenching of synthetic organic polymer filaments is improved by incorporation of a tubular delayed quench assembly extending from the spinneret and projecting into the cross-flow quench chimney. The projecting portion of the assembly is foraminous. An improvement in filament decitex uniformity is achieved especially with fine filaments.
