  • Patent number: 8953836
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein relating to real-time duplicate detection of video content. Fingerprints can be generated for an uploaded video. The fingerprints can be used to match the uploaded video to a set of matching videos. The set of matching videos can be filtered based on the type of match, and the quality of the match. A unique cluster-id can be generated for the uploaded video containing an upload time, and that unique cluster-id can then be modified to associate the uploaded video with a cluster-id of potential duplicates. Cluster-ids can then be used in the context of a search to filter results that have identical cluster-ids. The benefits in using real-time duplicate detection can better maximize user experiences in a video sharing service that contains potential duplicates of the same content.

  • Publication number: 20150033208
Abstract: System and method for validating a specification associated with a software application and/or a hardware is disclosed. The specification comprising expected behaviour requirements specified in a specification language and the semantics in the tabular notation is received. In order to validate the specification, a string may be identified for the specification. The string may indicate characters conforming to the specification language. Upon identifying the string, a token may be generated using the string. The token may be a binary representation of the string. The token may be arranged into a data structure. The specification is checked to conform to the specification language. Two or more specifications specified in the specification language are merged. A test case is generated from the validated specification. The expected behaviour with the actual behaviour of the specification is validated.

  • Patent number: 8924607
Abstract: Described herein are techniques for cancelling I/O requests. Initially, virtual memory of an application is assigned to a first portion of memory. The application may issue a read request to an external device. The external device is instructed to record any response to the read request in the first portion of memory. The read request may be cancelled as follows. The virtual memory of the application may be re-assigned to a second portion of the memory. If and when the external device finishes processing the read request, the external device's response to the read request may still be saved in the first portion of memory, even though the read request has been cancelled. Such action of the external device would ordinarily corrupt the virtual memory of the application, but due to the memory re-assignment, no corruption of the virtual memory occurs. Similar techniques may be applied to cancel write requests.

  • Publication number: 20140337330
Abstract: Content search involves receiving a user-formulated search query via a user device. The search query is submitted to two or more search domains. The search domains represent separate data repositories accessible via the user device. Results objects are received from the two or more search domains in response to the search query. The results objects arc ranked using different ranking criterion by the respective search domains from which the search results were received. A rank value for each of the results objects is determined based on a single ranking criterion. The results objects are ordered based at least in part on the rank values determined using the single ranking criterion and sent for display in a user interface of the user device.
