  • Publication number: 20230284012
Abstract: A first UE can receive a request to communicate from a second UE. The first UE and the second UE can exchange a first cryptographic key and a second cryptographic key associated with the first and the second UE, respectively. The first UE can receive an encrypted unique identifier associated with the second UE, where the unique identifier identifies a second wireless telecommunication network serving the second UE. The first UE can authenticate the second UE by sending the encrypted unique identifier to a first wireless telecommunication network and sending a request to confirm that the unique identifier is valid. The first UE can receive, from the first wireless telecommunication network, a confirmation that the unique identifier is valid. Upon receiving the confirmation, the first UE can engage in a communication with the second UE.

  • Patent number: 9788194
Abstract: Presently disclosed are methods and systems to dynamically adjust base station configurations based on the altitude of the base station. One embodiment takes the form of a method carried out by a cellular base station system. The method includes determining that an altitude of a cellular base station exceeds a threshold. The method also includes configuring the cellular base station with one or more operational parameters based on the determined altitude. The one or more operational parameters includes at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of a transmit power, a carrier frequency, a handoff parameter, and a whitelist.

  • Patent number: 9107047
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, apparatus, and system for managing repeat-paging processes within a radio access network. When a base station receives a paging directive, the base station begins broadcasting a first series of page messages destined to a mobile station. Responsive to the first base station receiving no response from the mobile station to the first series of page messages and responsive to the mobile station determining a load state and/or an application type, the first base station decides to send a repeat-paging directive from the first base station to a second base station without routing the repeat-paging directive through the control node or rather to route the repeat-paging directive through the control node and then to the second base station. The repeat-paging directive directs the second base station to begin broadcasting a second series of page messages destined to the mobile station.
