  • Publication number: 20180131427
Abstract: A UE can receive Zero Power Channel State Information Reference Signal (ZP-CSI-RS) configuration information for an aperiodic ZP-CSI-RS of a serving cell. The UE can receive Downlink Control Information (DCI) on a physical control channel in a subframe of the serving cell. The DCI can indicate whether a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) of the UE in the subframe of the serving cell is rate-matched around resource elements indicated by the ZP-CSI-RS configuration information. The UE can decode the PDSCH in the subframe of the serving cell based on rate-matching around the resource elements indicated by the ZP-CSI-RS configuration when the DCI indicates the PDSCH of the UE is rate-matched around the resource elements indicated by the ZP-CSI-RS configuration.

  • Publication number: 20180123751
Abstract: The disclosure relates to technology for assisting a wireless a communication device to acquire access to a millimeter-wave access point (mmW AP). In some embodiments, an angular direction from a mobile wireless communication device to the mmW AP is determined. In some embodiments, the mobile wireless communication device receives information from a wireless network that helps the mobile wireless communication device determine the angular direction. In some embodiments, the signals between wireless network and mobile wireless communication device are below 6 GHz. In some embodiments, the wireless network provides the mobile wireless communication device with the angular direction. Therefore, the mobile wireless communication device is able to configure an antenna to receive and/or transmit a beam in a direction of the mmW AP. The mobile wireless communication may do so during a process of gaining access to the mmW AP.

  • Patent number: 9942934
Abstract: A method of setting up a wireless ad hoc network includes constructing an initial network graph by a source device. The network graph represents the source device, at least one intermediate device, and at least one communication path between the source device and the intermediate device. The initial network graph is sent from the source device to the intermediate device along with an update request. The source device receives a second network graph from the intermediate device in response to sending the initial network graph, and determines an updated network graph by performing a union of the initial network graph and the second network graph. The process is performed by each intermediate device required to reach a destination device.

  • Patent number: 9936052
Abstract: A method of operating a wireless ad hoc network includes configuring an intermediate device with a first linear network code corresponding to a first source device and a second linear network code corresponding to a second source device. The intermediate device is on communication paths from the first source device and the second source device to a plurality of destination devices. The intermediate device receives packet data from either the first source device or from the second source device, and determines whether to apply the first linear network code or the second linear network code to the packet data. The intermediate device generates outgoing packet data and sends the packet data to at least one destination device of the plurality of destination devices using either the first linear network code or the second linear network code.

  • Patent number: 9918227
Abstract: In embodiments of network connectivity switching utilizing an authentication device for switching network connectivity from a first device to a second device, the authentication device receives a device switch indication from the second device, which can communicate via a cellular network. The authentication device communicates a device switch order to the first device, which is authenticated and communicatively linked for wireless communication via the cellular network. The authentication device communicates a network attach indication to the second device that then communicates an attach request to the cellular network, and the authentication device authenticates the second device to the cellular network. Alternatively, the authentication device receives a device switch indication from the second device and communicates a device switch order to the first device.

  • Patent number: 9883420
Abstract: For random linear network encoded data transmission from user equipment, a method receives a Galois field and a resource allocation for transmission of data from the user equipment. The method further encodes a first set of k data packets from a first data ensemble into a first random linear network coded (RLNC) packet as a function of the Galois field. The first RLNC packet includes an ensemble number that identifies the first data ensemble, an encoding vector, and a sequence of RLNC sub-packets. In addition, the method generates a first protocol data unit (PDU) that comprises a number of RLNC sub-packets of the first RLNC packet. A size of the first PDU does not exceed the resource allocation.

  • Patent number: 9883424
Abstract: Methods for performing change of primary cell during carrier aggregation operation are described. A mobile station (MS) receives a message to change a primary cell and to perform a random access communication with a new primary cell. Upon receiving a random access response message from the new primary cell, the MS starts transmitting a control channel to the new primary cell. In one embodiment, the MS releases the configuration of an uplink control channel and transmits uplink control information through an uplink shared channel. Upon completion of the primary cell change procedure, the MS starts transmission of an uplink control channel to the new primary cell.
