Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for facilitating the placement of a small cell, wherein at least one of a first set of parameters is determined at each of a first and a second location, at least one of a second set of parameters is determined at each of the first and the second location, and a recommended small cell placement location is generated based on at least one of the determined first set of parameters and the determined second set of parameters.

Abstract: A wireless communication network serves data content to a wireless user device. An access wireless relay wirelessly receives a user request for the data content from the wireless user device. The access wireless relay wirelessly transfers the data content to the wireless user device when it stores the data content. When the access wireless relay does not store the data content, it transfers content requests having a Time-To-Live (TTL). Serving wireless relays receive the content requests during the TTL. The serving wireless relays transfer the data content to the access wireless relay if they store the data content. The serving wireless relays forward the content requests with the TTL when they do not store the data content. Terminating wireless relays receive the content requests after the TTL. The terminating wireless relays stop forwarding the content requests.

Abstract: A micro cell management system and method are provided. The micro cell management system in one example includes a communication interface configured to exchange communications with one or more wireless micro cells and a processing system coupled to the communication interface. The processing system is configured to obtain GPS information for each wireless micro cell of a micro cell cluster, obtain backhaul information for each wireless micro cell of the micro cell cluster, select a master cell for the micro cell cluster, with the master cell comprising a wireless micro cell having one or both of an optimum GPS signal or an optimum backhaul signal, and configure the master cell to perform one or more of relaying GPS data to other wireless micro cells of the micro cell cluster or exchanging backhaul data for the micro cell cluster.

Abstract: A wireless access node to facilitate dynamic assignment of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) modes comprises a wireless communication transceiver and a processing system. The wireless communication transceiver is configured to receive a scattering coefficient transmitted from a wireless communication device served by the wireless access node. The processing system is configured to compare the scattering coefficient to a scattering threshold, and if the scattering coefficient exceeds the scattering threshold, select a lower order MIMO mode for the wireless communication device and assign the lower order MIMO mode to the wireless communication device.
