  • Patent number: 9915939
Abstract: An industrial control system is provided that includes a first control set, having a first frame period. The first control set includes at least one first input/output (I/O) pack; and at least one first controller. The industrial control system also has a second control set with a second frame period. The second control set includes at least one second input/output (I/O) pack; and at least one second controller. A mixed-frame rate logic device is also included with the industrial control system. This device may handle sharing of input data, output data, or both provided by the first control set to the second control set when the first and second frame periods are different.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2013
Date of Patent: March 13, 2018
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Muralidhar Venkata Subrahmanya Duvvuri, Harry Paul Ridenour, III
  • Patent number: 9904266
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to real-time debugging systems and methods. In one embodiment, a system that includes a server module and a client module can be provided. The server module can be executable on a first computer and can be adapted to use a native communications format for interactive transfer of industrial automation data between the first computer and at least one industrial automation element. The client module, which can be executable on the same computer as the server module or on a different computer, can include a debugging application configured to use a universal communications format for communicatively interacting with the server module for accessing the industrial automation data and debugging one or more programming portions associated with the industrial automation data.

  • Publication number: 20120245710
Abstract: A method is provided for saving the state of a real-time controller. The method includes receiving a command to save a state of a controller coupled to an industrial system, wherein the controller comprises a processor and a non-volatile memory, capturing the state of the controller during control and monitoring of the industrial system, and writing the captured state to the non-volatile memory of the controller.

  • Publication number: 20120239374
Abstract: A simulation system includes a simulation interface and a virtual controller coupled to the simulation interface. The virtual controller includes an application layer that receives application layer inputs and provides outputs to the simulation interface and an input/output (I/O) layer coupled to the system model and the application layer. The I/O layer includes one or more I/O module models that receive the system model outputs and creates the application layer inputs in the same or similar manner as an I/O module in the system being simulated.
