  • Publication number: 20060121887
Abstract: Method, apparatus and system embodiments are disclosed for a mechanism for permitting a remote message originator to override a silent mode of a wireless communication device. A remote originator of a call or message to the wireless communication device may enter a key value. If the key value and the originator's identity are authenticated, the silent mode is overridden in that a priority message notification, such as an audible tone, is generated. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20050147095
Abstract: Systems and methods for IP multicast packet burst absorption and multithreaded replication architecture are disclosed. Replications of IP multicast packets are performed in a control plane of a network device. The network device may include a data plane for transmitting data between ingress and egress ports and a control plane including a shared transmit/receive queue infrastructure configured to queue incoming multicast packets to be replicated on a per ingress port basis and to queue transmit packets, and a multicast processing engine in communication with the shared queue infrastructure and including a circular replication buffer to facilitate multithreaded replication of multicast packets on a per egress virtual local area network (VLAN) replication basis. The shared transmit/receive queue infrastructure may dynamically allocate memory between the transmit and receive multicast queues.

  • Publication number: 20040042463
Abstract: An address lookup device provides information for a lookup value. A lookup value based on a network address in a received packet is received by a discriminant bits search device. A discriminant bits pattern is used to determine a location in an address lookup table based on the lookup value. The discriminant bits search device determines whether the lookup value is located in the location in the address lookup table. The discriminant bits search device outputs next hop information if the lookup value is located in the location in the address lookup table, and outputs default information if the lookup value is not located in the location in the address lookup table.
