  • Patent number: 9693337
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a request to receive a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) service associated with a service area identity (SAI) and a second frequency. The apparatus performs inter-frequency cell reselection from a first cell transmitting at a first frequency to a second cell transmitting at the second frequency, the second cell being an inter-frequency neighbor cell to the first cell. The apparatus receives system information from the second cell. The apparatus determines that the second cell transmitting at the second frequency is unassociated with the SAI based on the received system information. The apparatus blacklists the SAI on the second frequency in a blacklist for at least a period of time upon determining that the second cell is unassociated with the SAI.

  • Patent number: 9661542
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus performs a handover from a source cell to a target cell. The apparatus determines a decoding timer value based on network conditions. The apparatus attempts to decode a MIB or a SIB from the target cell within a time after the handover corresponding to the decoding timer value. The apparatus triggers a radio link failure (RLF) when the MIB or the SIB is not decoded within the time corresponding to the decoding timer value.

  • Patent number: 9532185
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a first MTCH. The apparatus stores MBMS control information for at least a second MTCH. The apparatus subsequently determines to receive the second MTCH. The apparatus then accesses the stored MBMS control information for the second MTCH upon determining to receive the second MTCH. The apparatus receives the second MTCH based on the accessed MBMS control information without acquiring the MBMS control information for the second MTCH after the determination to receive the second MTCH.

  • Publication number: 20160262030
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus selects an LTE serving cell and a non-LTE serving cell. Measurement objects corresponding thereto are identified based on a review of broadcasted system information and historical information relating to prior serving cells. The apparatus identifies measurement objects from other radio access technologies (RATs) (WCDMA, CDMA, GSM). The remaining measurement objects may be identified based on measurement identifiers. The apparatus performs wireless measurements based on the selected serving cells and identified measurement objects. The resulting measurements are transmitted to the network for use in determining channel conditions.

  • Publication number: 20150296391
Abstract: Techniques for optimized cell acquisition for long term evolution (LTE) time division duplex (TDD) systems or closed subscriber group (CSG)/evolved Multicast Broadcast Multimedia Service (eMBMS) capable user equipments (UEs) are disclosed. A UE obtains configuration information, CSG capability information, and/or eMBMS capability information for a cell. The UE also stores the obtained information for the cell in a cell information database. In some aspects, the UE may employ the CSG and/or eMBMS capability information to select a weaker cell, during initial frequency scan at power up of the UE, based on cell capability. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may employ the configuration information to determine an initial mutual information (Mi) hypothesis value for physical hybrid-automatic repeat request (HART) indicator channel (PHICH) group mapping of the cell.

  • Publication number: 20150049600
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, from a serving cell, system information including a plurality of SAIs. The UE determines an interest in receiving an MBMS service from at least one cell on one or more candidate frequencies based on the received SAIs. The UE determines that the UE has encountered one of an RLF or an OOS on the serving cell. The UE prioritizes network reestablishment on the one or more frequencies that carry the MBMS service the UE is interested in receiving upon determining the UE encountered the one of the RLF or the OOS.

  • Publication number: 20140355507
Abstract: A UE may camp on a femto cell in an idle mode and determine whether the UE has an interest in receiving an MBMS service from an MBMS cell. When the UE has the interest in receiving the MBMS service, the UE adjusts a priority of the MBMS cell on which the MBMS service is provided or a priority of the femto cell such that the priority of the MBMS cell is higher than the priority of the femto cell. Otherwise, the UE refrains from adjusting the priority of the MBMS cell or the priority of the femto cell.
