  • Patent number: 11656481
Abstract: An eyewear frame having at least one frame component including a stimuli-responsive polymer is provided. The at least one frame component has a physical property which is reversibly changeable in response to a stimulus of non-thermal origin applied to the stimuli-responsive polymer. An eyewear including the eyewear frame, and a method of adjusting the eyewear frame are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220107445
Abstract: An optical system comprising an optical lens •—the optical lens comprising a substrate (2) and a self-healing coating (3) extending along at least part of a surface of the substrate, the self-healing coating having a glass-transition temperature equal to or greater than 40° C. and equal to or smaller than 60° C., and •—the optical system comprising a heating component (4) adapted to heat the self-healing coating at a temperature above the glass-transition temperature of the self-healing coating.

  • Patent number: 9475166
Abstract: A method for cutting-out a multi-layer ophthalmic lens (100) following a desired contour (C3), includes: a step of pre-blanking the ophthalmic lens (100) using a preliminary tool (210; 223), according to a preliminary contour (C1, C1?); a step of blanking the ophthalmic lens (100) using a blanking wheel (210), following a blanking contour (C2, C3); and a step of finishing the ophthalmic lens (100) using a finishing tool (212). According to the invention, the preliminary contour (C1, C1?) is larger than the desired contour (C3), and the blanking wheel (210) used has a granulometry of between 0.1 and 0.5 mm and is controlled in relation to the ophthalmic lens (100) so as to apply a radial force of between 0.1 and 5 N to the ophthalmic lens (100) during the blanking step.

  • Publication number: 20070126983
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a polarized optical article, in particular a polarized ophthalmic lens, comprising at least the successive steps consisting respectively in: applying, to a constituent substrate of the optical article, a coating comprising at least one dye that is sensitive to photodegradation; and introducing, by imbibition, a UV absorber into said coating. The invention also relates to the optical article capable of being obtained according to this method.
