  • Patent number: 11920347
Abstract: A joist assembly system that is structured for dynamic retrieval of components, dynamic and precise positioning and location of retrieved components, assembly of the components to form a joist, and delivery of the assembled joist. The joist assembly system has a plurality of material handling systems, a plurality of welding systems, and a rigging table system. The material handling systems are structured to load and position the components such as chords and webs onto the rigging table. The rigging table in turn supports the chords or webs. Subsequently, the plurality of welding systems weld the webs to the chords to form the joist.

  • Publication number: 20070288760
Abstract: The present invention uses an element of digital data that is created during digital postage mark (DPM) generation process from the digital image of the destination address block. The digital data is included into recoverable portion of the digital signature and imprinted on a mailpiece. During DPM verification, a representative portion of a destination address block image is retrieved in its original form from the digital signature itself. The retrieved portion of the image then can be compared with the similar digital data obtained from the scanned destination address block obtained during normal mail scanning and processing activities. If the comparison is under a predetermined threshold, then the DPM is declared authentic and the mailpiece can be processed and delivered with confidence. If, on the other hand, the threshold is not met, the DPM is declared a copy or a counterfeit of another DPM and the mailpiece can be subjected to further investigation.

  • Publication number: 20070260561
Abstract: A mail processing system and method for reducing delivery expenses is provided. When a mailer prepares a batch of mail pieces, the mailer will print on each mail piece information associated with each mail piece. The mailer provides the batch of mail pieces to a mail processing facility. The mail processing facility can then combine batches of mail received from different mailers together to form a single aggregation. The mail processing facility reads the information associated with each mail piece and sorts the aggregation into a plurality of batches based on the information read from each mail piece. A carrier can then be selected, from among a plurality of different carriers, for each of the plurality of batches that preferably provides the desired delivery services at the lowest cost for delivery.

  • Publication number: 20070050314
Abstract: A system for managing postage funds that includes a data center computer system for authorizing and accounting for postage fund downloads for one or more customers, a customer funds repository in electronic communication with the data center computer system, and a plurality of postage meters located at a customer site remote from the data center computer system. The postage meters may selectively request and receive or return postage funds that have been previously downloaded to the customer funds repository from the data center computer system. Also, a method of securely transferring a first amount of postage funds from a first postage meter to a second postage meter in a side load transaction.

  • Publication number: 20060095391
Abstract: A closed loop postage metering system includes networked meters that provide mailers and/or recipients the capability to request additional or modified services during processing of a mail piece by a carrier. The networked meter allows the Post to charge the mailer, or even the recipient for these services or to provide them with a refund or credit. The services can include changing the processing of the mail piece. Further, the closed loop postage metering system enables more precise methods of paying for services when multiple carriers handle a mail piece. A special case of such multiple carriers handling is the handling of international mail.

  • Patent number: 6079325
Abstract: Trackless gantry press apparatus includes, in one embodiment, a plurality of truss setup tables configured to form a row of spaced truss setup tables. Each table includes wheel guides coupled at opposing ends and extending the width of the table. The guides are configured to be in substantial alignment with the guides coupled to adjacent tables. The apparatus also includes a press assembly for pressing nailing plates into truss members. The press assembly includes a substantially cylindrically shaped roller movably coupled to a substantially inverted U-shaped frame. The press assembly also includes at least four support wheels and at least four reaction pressure wheels coupled to each opposite end of the frame and configured so that at least three support wheels on each end of the press assembly are in contact with the wheel guides at all times as the press assembly traverses the spaces between the spaced setup tables.
