  • Patent number: 5251345
Abstract: A portable shower/emergency eye wash device (20) comprises a base portion (48), a handle-carrying portion (32) opposed to the base portion having a handle (30), and a walled structure (40, 42, 44, 46) joining the base portion and the handle-carrying portion into a drainable water tight enclosure (24). A recess (64) and a compartment (56) are closable by covers (57, 76). A rechargeable, sealed battery (54) and an electrically operated pump (52) are held within compartment (56). A hose 66 couples the pump to the enclosure interior and to the water therein. A spray head (28) and its hose (26) are secured to pump (52) through a hose 68 extending through an opening 62 to annular recess 64. The spray head may include a pump controlling electric switch and a water controlling valve for controlling the amount or discharge pattern of water being dispensed or sprayed.

  • Patent number: 4337737
Abstract: An oil cooler (10) for an internal combustion engine includes a regulator (26) with a bimetallic element (28) which is adapted to close off all but one end (22) of parallel flow paths extending between an inlet plenum (12) and an outlet plenum (14) of the cooler. Increasing the oil temperatures causes the element to bend away from the openings and thus to open more of the conduits to passage and cooling of the oil through the cooler.

  • Patent number: 4200149
Abstract: A serpentine or parallely formed conduit is fixed within a support and is further joined on its exterior surfaces by a plurality of fins. The fins have a plurality of louvered cups which define openings in the fins so that air or other heat transfer medium will pass through the fins and be turbulated around the conduits for improved heat transfer. Within the conduits are strips having similar louvered cups and openings therein and these also enhance turbulance of the fluid passing through the conduits to augment heat transfer.
