    Abstract: A system and method are configured to check the health of a TETRA-based communication system without interrupting or degrading the operation of the TETRA base station. The health is checked by at least measuring an uplink RSSI of the TETRA base station and determining a transmitted power level and a location of a transmitter. The measured RSSI is used to determine a strongest RSSI and to obtain the transmitted power level and location of a transmitter corresponding to the strongest RSSI.
