Abstract: An active exercise and therapeutic system for promoting physical motion, balance and coordination and importantly a variety of therapeutic modalities to a user's foot or feet. The system includes a training apparatus having a stationary base member operatively interconnected with first and second rotating platforms mounted thereon. The first and second rotating platforms are adapted to receive, respectively, the foot of an individual to stand thereon such that each foot can rotate independently about a separate axis. Stationary base member with rotating platforms mounted thereon can further be positioned upon a specialized mount operative to impart a further range of motion or specific orientation. In further embodiments, the rotating platforms may be provided with a variety of functional modalities, such as calorie counting, distance travelled, and the like, or a therapeutic modality, such as heat, cold or pressure sensation to impart a therapeutic effect to the user's feet.

Abstract: A split rotating keyboard system for use in easing muscle strain and mitigating the effects of carpal tunnel syndrome associated with the usage of conventional computer keyboards. The system comprises first and second computer keyboard sections, namely, a left-hand computer keyboard section and a right-hand computer keyboard section. Each respective computer keyboard section is mounted upon a dedicated rotating platform member that is operative to rotate in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions. According to a preferred embodiment, the rotating platform portions upon which the first and second keyboard sections are positioned may be secured upon a base member that is operative to maintain the first and second rotating platform members in fixed relation to one another.

Abstract: An athletic shoe with a legging sleeve connected thereto. The athletic shoe may take any of a variety of high-performance shoes known in the art, such as tennis shoes, basketball shoes, and the like. The legging sleeve component is integrally connected as part of the shoe and is extensible over the calf, knees and thigh of the wearer and operative to form a compressive fit thereabout. Integrated as part of such legging sleeve may include pockets, channels and pouches for receiving brace structures, support devices, protective coverings and a variety of other implements to facilitate movement, support and promote proper form when playing sports. Such device may further include integration with sensors so as to monitor physical activity, or measurement of a variety of other physiological parameters for use in a variety of applications.

Abstract: A modular storage system and work station comprised of connectable modules that are operative to form portable work spaces that are easily adjustable and provide for an attachment system that allows for various accessories, computers, notebooks and the like to be detachably secured to the work station. In a preferred embodiment, the modules are comprised of a honeycomb-like structure that is operative to allow for the attachable interconnection of male- and female-type parts. The modular storage system and work station of the present invention may further be designed to be operatively transitional from a first carrying case-type configuration to a work station configuration, the latter defining a selectively adjustable work surface to which various accessories can be attached and selectively positioned.

Abstract: A method for web-based advertising using a cost-per-time scheme includes providing a web page to a browser, the web page containing functionality to enable data to be uploaded to a web server, sending an advertisement to the browser for display on the web page, wherein the browser displays the advertisement at least while an upload of data is in progress, determining a time of an upload of data to the web server, and storing the time of the upload of data wherein the stored time is associated with the advertisement, such that an advertiser is able to be charged for the display of the advertisement based on the time of the upload of data. The advertiser can then be charged for the display of the advertisement on a cost-per-time basis, i.e., charged an amount determined by a cost-per-time rate and how long the advertisement was displayed to the user during the upload.

Abstract: One embodiment of a method for file authentication and versioning includes receiving a request to retrieve a data element identified by a content identifier, identifying a storage location associated with the content identifier, retrieving a data element stored at the storage location, calculating a second content identifier of the retrieved data element, comparing the content identifier and the second content identifier, if the content identifier and the second content identifier match, providing a preview of the retrieved data element and a representation of the content identifier to be displayed to a user. The representation of the content identifier may be an alphanumeric string derived from the content identifier or a graphic representation, such as a barcode, derived from the content identifier.
