    Abstract: A method for performing secure Bluetooth communication between a vehicle terminal and a user terminal is provided. The method includes: transmitting a user terminal inverse certificate request message to an authority server; receiving a message from the authority server in response to the transmission of the user terminal inverse certificate request message; obtaining a user terminal inverse certificate from the message received from the authority server; receiving a vehicle terminal inverse certificate from the user terminal in exchange for the user terminal inverse certificate; validating the vehicle terminal inverse certificate; pairing with the user terminal when the vehicle terminal inverse certificate is validated; and performing Bluetooth communication with the paired user terminal.

    Abstract: A method of integrating Bluetooth protocols in establishing a connection between a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device and a vehicle telematics system having two or more Bluetooth controllers includes establishing a Bluetooth communication channel between the mobile device and a first Bluetooth controller. The first Bluetooth controller authenticates the mobile device. In response to successful authentication of the mobile device, a secure connection between the first Bluetooth controller and a second Bluetooth controller is established. Authentication credentials of the authenticated mobile device are sent from the first Bluetooth controller to the second Bluetooth controller. Commands received from the mobile device via the Bluetooth communication channel are processed by the first Bluetooth controller or the second Bluetooth controller depending on the protocol utilized by the mobile device.

    Abstract: A method for performing a remote control operation in a vehicle is provided. The method includes receiving, at telematics electronics of a vehicle, versions of a remote control command sent wirelessly to the vehicle by a dispatcher service. The versions of the remote control command are text-based messages encrypted by the dispatcher service using a first encryption mechanism. The method also includes decrypting the versions of the remote control command received from the dispatcher service into a plain text command. The method further includes encrypting the plain text command using a second encryption mechanism for use within the vehicle. The method additionally includes providing the command encrypted using the second encryption mechanism to another controller within the vehicle.
