  • Patent number: 7018091
Abstract: An electric household appliance for processing foods comprises a main body including an electric motor unit and its control elements, at least a working accessory comprising a tool designed to be driven by the motor unit and a safety device including a first member housed in the appliance main body and a second member connected to the accessory. The member is a transceiver and the second member is a transponder, the transceiver and transponder being designed to be inductively coupled by a radiofrequency or microwave electromagnetic field when the accessory is installed on the appliance body. Preferably, the transponder connected to the accessory comprises a power circuit derived from the electric power induced in the transponder antenna and additional safety elements for deactivating the powering circuit.

  • Patent number: 6414284
Abstract: A temperature sensor includes a semiconductor wafer (2) with a recess wherein is placed a sensitive element (3) which is heated in response to a target infrared radiation, and thermal insulating layer (16) provided between the sensitive element (3) and the wafer (2), a thermoelectric element (6) which generates a first electric signal (V1) representing the difference between the target temperature and a reference temperature, and a device sensing temperature by contact (5), transmitting a second signal (V2) representing the reference temperature. The sensor includes an electronic device for processing the signals (V1, V2) transmitted by the thermoelectric element (6) and the device sensing temperature by contact (5), this device consisting of component formed in the semiconductor wafer (2).

  • Patent number: 6252372
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for varying and regulating the speed of a motor powered from a voltage source via a triac, comprising, at least once every alternating voltage interval, the following steps: computing a surface value (SI) corresponding to the current absorbed (I(M)) in a time window (FT) defined between a current switching-on time (ti) and a following current switching-off time (tf); computing an interval of the next triac-blocking time (t′); and controlling the starting of the triac when the blocking time (t′) has elapsed. The invention is useful in particular for household electric and house automation appliances operating at variable speed.

  • Patent number: 6150637
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for controlling the duration of heating and/or cooking an undetermined amount Z of a given food product (5) placed in an oven chamber (1) comprising a heat source (2) and a sensor (4) for picking up a signal characteristic of the heating and/or cooking state of the food product. The invention is characterised in that it consists, after (A) supplying the heat source (2) at an initial moment t.sub.0 so that it delivers a predetermined constant power P.sub.0, in (B) measuring said characteristic signal at several successive moments over a measuring interval from said initial moment t.sub.0 to a final prefixed moment t.sub.c ; in (C) computing over this measuring interval the value S.sub.Zc of the integral of the characteristic signal measurements of taken in absolute value; in (D) deducing the residual time t.sub.r for heating and/or cooking for said undetermined amount Z of food product according to a predetermined polynomial equation linking the residual time t.sub.

  • Patent number: 5450059
Abstract: Detection system with receptor controlled by an emitter and having a microcontroller and a device to verify the proper functioning of the receptor which includes an additional control circuit connected to the receptor and to a terminal of the microcontroller. The microcontroller includes a generator-programmer which controls at time intervals the emission of a signal to activate the additional control circuit which forces the receptor to assume its non-conducting state, and which analyzes the corresponding instantaneous state of a node of the detector in such a manner as to prevent the control center from directing the control circuit if its instantaneous state is different from the inactive state.
