  • Patent number: 5806890
Abstract: A steering wheel position adjusting apparatus including a fixed tubular column, a movable tubular column movably mounted on the fixed tubular column, a lower rotational output steering shaft mounted within the fixed tubular column, and an upper rotational input steering shaft mounted within the movable tubular column and having upper and lower ends. The upper rotational steering shaft is connected at the upper end thereof to the manually operated steering wheel, and is connected at the lower end thereof to an upper end of the lower rotational steering shaft. The upper rotational steering shaft is movable with respect to the lower rotational steering shaft. An annular shaped ultrasonic motor is mounted on the outer periphery of the fixed column, the annular shaped ultrasonic motor being coaxial with the fixed tubular column and includes an output gear.

  • Patent number: 5595089
Abstract: An actuator for steering rear wheels is reduced in size and its construction is simplified while preventing a degradation in the reliability. An electric coil 2 is disposed on the outside while a rotor is disposed on the inside, assisting in heating dissipation. One of bearings 10 which support a rotor and an electric coil 2 are integrally secured to a casing 1 when a resin 3 is molded thereon. At the same time, a ring gear 12 is formed by the molding of the resin 3. In addition, the molding operation of the resin forms one of sun gears, 11a, integrally with a rotor 4. The casing 1 is formed with a recess or projection 1a, 1b, thus preventing a slip of the resin member 3 from occurring. A permanent magnet 13 which is separate from a permanent magnet 5 used for driving is mounted on the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5098263
Abstract: A pressure vibration damping device in a liquid supply passage for supplying a liquid from a pump to a hydraulic device such as a fluid pressure type suspension of a vehicle, including a pressure pulse absorbing means adapted to be able to accept and return a small amount of the liquid from and to said liquid supply passage so as to absorb momentary changes in the flow rate of the liquid in the liquid supply passage, and a liquid column vibration damping means adapted to be able to apply a substantial flow resistance principally to a high velocity flow of the liquid in the liquid supply passage at a part thereof between the pump and the pressure pulse absorbing means, the high flow velocity being due to pulse flows of the liquid induced by a resonance of pulsating output of the pump and the pressure pulse absorbing means and substantially higher than a mean flow velocity of the liquid corresponding to a normal rate of supply of the liquid through the liquid supply passage.

  • Patent number: 4408417
Abstract: A barrel-type finishing machine provides the fully automatic functions which permit the finishing process such as surface finishing, radiusing, gloss polishing, etc., and other associated operations to be performed for each succeeding cycle of the sequence of those operations. The machine includes a dual barrel structure consisting of an upper stationary container of a cylindrical shape and a lower rotary shallow container of a tray shape which are partly or wholly movable up and down relative to each other; and an annular mass receptacle trough surrounding close to the dual barrel structure and including means for causing the mass receptacle trough to be moved up and down, means for separating the mass into workpieces and abrasive media, means for returning the abrasive media for reuse, and vibration generating means for placing the mass collector conduit under vibration, means may be included for controlling the toroidal flow of the mass inside the dual-barrel structure by producing a centrifugal force.
