Abstract: Conductor segments that form a coil in a stator are formed by rectangular wires and are disposed in slots such that wide first faces are parallel to the radial direction. A plurality of conductor segments are disposed in the slots so that narrow second faces are opposite each other. The conductor segment disposed at the i-th (where i is an integer greater than or equal to 1) position from the inside of a stator core is joined to the conductor segment disposed in the (i+1)-th position in another slot such that vertical parts and horizontal parts thereof are opposite each other. The joined opposing first faces are formed parallel to the radial direction and are provided on both a first protrusion side and a second protrusion side.
