  • Patent number: 5292158
Abstract: A lock mechanism for causing an openable member such as a cover or a door of a box or the like to engage with or disengage from a main body as the openable member is pressed, and a latch device for retaining a latch body in the housing in a pushed-in state or in a withdrawn state. The center of rotation of each of a pair of arms of the latch device is formed on substantially the same line as a line of action of a force acting on a retaining surface of each of the arms for retaining a striker.

  • Patent number: 5217262
Abstract: A latch device including a pair of circuital cam grooves having different planar shapes formed in opposite surfaces of a latch body. A guide lever is inserted into the circuital cam grooves so that tips of tracing portions of the guide lever do not contact bottom surfaces of the circuital cam grooves. The circuital cam grooves have a heart-shaped projection and a triangular projection, such that torsion is generated in the tracing portions because of differences in configurations of the circuital cam grooves. A restoring force of the guide lever acting opposite the torsional force causes the tracing portions to circulate in a given direction. As a result, compared with conventional latch devices, fewer components may be used. Wear on the circuital grooves of the latch body can be prevented. When the torsional force is eliminated, the tracing portions move in a direction where the groove wall surfaces are not provided.

  • Patent number: 5035455
Abstract: A lock device for a case having a body and a lid includes a latch member, a lock member, a lock-releasing mechanism and a damper. The latch member is pivotably mounted upon one of the body and lid components of the case and normally biased in the unlocking direction. The lock member is mounted upon the other one of the body and lid components of the case for releasably receiving and locking the latch member when the body is in the state of being closed by means of the lid and for retaining the locked state of the latch member. The lock-releasing mechanism is provided upon the lock member for unlocking the lock member. The damper is engaged with the latch member for damping the movement of the latch member under the influence of the biasing force in the unlocking direction of the latch member.

  • Patent number: 4948314
Abstract: A screw grommet includes a flange having a screw insertion hole and a sack-like body integral with the flange. The sack-like body is inserted through a hole formed within an object to be fastened and has an inner axial screw guide channel communicating with the screw insertion hole for receiving and guiding an inserted screw, and a plurality of hill-like portions formed upon the outer periphery thereof and projecting axially while leaving a gap between the upper end of each hill-like portion and the lower surface of the flange. The gap serves as a fulcrum point about which the hill-like portions can in effect pivot in order to generate a wedging action upon the object being fastened when the screw is inserted within the screw guide channel.

  • Patent number: 4934889
Abstract: A nut type plastic fastener has a vertical penetrating space and a plurality of holding pieces facing one another with the space. The facing surfaces of the holding pieces are provided with ridges for engagement with threads of a stud. The lower portions of the holding pieces are connected by means of small-thickness flexible pieces to the lower portion of the fastener body defining the space. When a stud is passed through a gap defined between the holding pieces, the holding pieces are separated from one another as a result of the flexing of the flexible pieces.

  • Patent number: 4817250
Abstract: A cord lock includes a pair of main bodies for permitting intermediate portions of a cord to be thrust therethrough and a pair of lock members mounted upon the main bodies respectively so as to develop a predetermined resisting force against longitudinal movement of the intermediate portions of the cord. Each of the main bodies is provided with an engaging projection and an engaging recess which permits the counterpart engaging projection to engage therein. The main bodies each having the engaging projection and recess are formed with identical configurations.

  • Patent number: 4779906
Abstract: A latch device has a rotary cam axially supported by one of a stationary cylinder and a sliding rod which effect relative reciprocal movement. The cam has reverse rotation preventing means and is engaged in the course of its rotation by associated portions provided on the other of the stationary cylinder and the sliding rod to temporarily restrict the movement of the sliding rod in one direction during the relative reciprocal movement.

  • Patent number: 4657291
Abstract: A locking device is disclosed, which is locked when a spike secured to the back surface of a door is pushed once and is released when the spike is pushed once again. The locking device comprises a case open at one end and having a wall provided with a spring portion having an end projection, a lock member slidably accommodated in the case for movement away from and toward the open end and having a pair of locking pawls, a spring for urging the lock member toward the open end of the case at all times, and a cam member provided between the lock member and an end wall of the case and having a lateral ridge formed on one surface and received in a lateral groove of the lock member, the cam member being provided on the other surface with a uni-directional looped path, the projection of the case being slidably engaged in the path. When the lock member is pushed, the projection of the base is caused to trace the looped path to bring about a locked state and an unlocked state.

  • Patent number: 4616861
Abstract: A first push of an engaging piece moves a projecting portion provided on a case along a one-way passage loop provided on one face of a cam plate while simultaneously moving the cam plate transversely, guiding the projecting portion into an engaging portion provided in said passage, locking the device. Pushing the engaging piece a second time disengages the projecting portion from the engaging portion and moves the cam plate transversely back to its original position, unlocking the device.

  • Patent number: 4002822
Abstract: Disclosed is a grommet made of a synthetic resin, which comprises two members adapted to be coupled into embracing engagement, said members each provided at the opposed end portions thereof with a pair of inclined protrusions of which the directions of inclined edges, when observed in front elevation, cross each other. When said two members of the grommet are coupled with each other, therefore, said inclined protrusions closely approach each other at both said end portions so as to firmly grip a cord passed between the two members and said close mutual approach of the inclined protrusions causes the cord to twist itself between one end portion and the other end portion of the coupled members because of said crossed relationship of the directions of the inclined edges of said protrusions. This twist in the cord serves the purpose of preventing the cord from freely moving in the direction of its length.
