Patent number: 8181852Abstract: A banknote stack receiving structure is provided in front of a banknote validator for sequentially passing banknotes to the validator in a serial manner. A first drive arrangement engages one side of an exposed banknote and urges the banknote towards the validator. A restrictive drive cooperates with the first drive and a banknote must pass between opposed rollers of the drives to move to the validator. The restrictive drive roller contacts the opposite side of the exposed banknote but may also contact an overlapping banknote. The restrictive drive rotates to feed a banknote to the validator if a single banknote is present and automatically rotates in an opposite direction if overlapping banknotes are present. This automatic direction of rotation is due to slippage between banknotes and overcoming a low torque motor of the restrictive drive when a single banknote is present.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2006Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignee: Crane Canada Co.Inventors: Leon Saltsov, Volodymyr Barchuk, Sergiy Androsyuk, Oleksandr Soyfer, Mykhaylo Bazhenov, Olga Bazhenova, legal representative, Bogdan Mishunin, Oleksandr Onipchenko

Publication number: 20120092672Abstract: An apparatus and method for detection of overlapped substrates, that are at least opaque, analyses a high frequency component caused by speckle for a sudden drop therein. This high frequency component drops dramatically when overlapped substrates are present and therefore allows fast accurate recognition of an overlapped substrate condition. This is useful in many applications including banknote validators.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2006Publication date: April 19, 2012Inventors: Leon Saltsov, Bogdan Mishunin, Dimitro Baydin, Volodymyr Barchuk, Mykhaylo Bazhenov, Olga Bazhenova, Oleksandr Soyfer

Patent number: 8100395Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for accumulating and dispensing bank notes of various length, width and condition without appreciable deformation of current note and displacement of previously stacked notes, preferably having a device connected in series to verify genuineness of bank notes inserted. Apparatus comprises a lockable removable box with a note transfer, stacker and dispensing mechanism. A note transfer mechanism comprises a belt drive with at least one spring claw for gripping note leading edge. Stacker mechanism comprises two reversible frames with longitudinal revolving panels on their side segments. Dispensing mechanism comprises spring loaded roll pallet with outlet gate. A note is pulled into apparatus by means of gripper under the belt translation. The notes stack or bundle is formed due to reversible motion of frames with corresponding side panels revolving. At the dispenser embodiment the bundle of notes slides out due to cooperative motion of driving belt and roll pallet.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2008Date of Patent: January 24, 2012Assignee: Crane Canada Co.Inventors: Sergii Afanasov, Volodymyr Shvarts, Mykhaylo Bazhenov, Olga Bazhenova, legal representative

Patent number: 7271398Abstract: A simple high optical efficiency reflective optical sensor for bill validator uses an inexpensive bulb having a case which is transparent to efficient luminous radiation. This case is used as a wave guide to return reflected radiation to at least one photo detector situated directly under the transparent bottom of the case. The bulb emits a narrow beam of light and is positioned in close proximity and perpendicular to a bill surface and illuminates it. The light reflected or fluoresced by the bill is collected widely with a convex lens end of the bulb case and this collected radiation is transmitted through the bulb case to the at least one photo detector. Preferably, the bulb is a light emitting diode.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2004Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Inventors: Sergiy Androsyuk, Dmitro Baydin, Yuriy Rusakov, Mykhaylo Bazhenov, Gennadiy Gaponyuk, Oleksandr Lukonin

Patent number: 6722781Abstract: A simple method and apparatus for contactless rapid and inexpensive motion checking of flat objects, preferably of currency papers. The objects need not be identical in size, thickness, surface appearance, configuration nor deterioration. The checking is carried out by detecting of airflow oscillation under unexpected stoppage of testing object or air movement around the object especially on its front and back edges.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Cashcode Company Inc.Inventors: Mykhaylo Bazhenov, Dmytro Baydin, Oleksandr Lukonin, Bogdan Mishunin
