  • Patent number: 10399000
Abstract: An aerodynamic flying device combines features of a flying disk and a boomerang. The device uses a closed dome flying disk with one or more cambered wings attached to the disk. The wings have their leading edges facing in the direction of rotation of the disk. The wings may be asymmetrically cambered or may be symmetrically cambered about the center line of each wing. An outer ring is attached to the outer edges of each wing. A downwardly dependent curved rim runs along the outer periphery of the device with a discontinuity of the rim occurring along the joinder line whereat each wing attaches to the disk. Another discontinuity of the rim may occur along a portion of the trailing edge of each wing.

  • Patent number: 6530179
Abstract: A continuously extruded profile sash and frame each having an integral rigid hinge thereon. The device comprises an operable hinge system wherein the load bearing hinge mechanics are extruded as an integral part of the extruded frame member and of the extruded sash moving panel, the sash and frame can each have a cell structure for increased structural integrity and thermal insulating capacity. A punch press may be used to create the male knuckle and female hinge components. At least one hinge pin can be inserted into the cylindrical cavity and run the length of the hinge. Panel and frame members include arcuate sides.

  • Patent number: 6393790
Abstract: A construction block cap is used to cap the open end of a construction block in order to provide a generally air tight and water tight seal of the open end. The construction block cap has a body member with a top surface and a bottom surface and a raised portion extending upwardly from the top surface in spaced apart fashion with respect to the outer periphery of the body member. The body member is positioned so that the top surface rests on the edges of the open end and the outer surface of the raised portion abuts the interior surfaces of the faces and two of the side edges of the construction block. A channel can be located on the top surface on order to hold a desiccant tube. The bottom surface has a connection system to connect to a frame member, the connection system being either male or female in nature.

  • Patent number: 6298614
Abstract: A window frame for installation onto a structure having exterior siding, the window frame helping to prevent moisture from penetrating into the interior of the structure. The window frame has a frame member onto which is installed a window pane and a C-tunnel, the C-tunnel having a first flange, a second flange that extends outwardly from the first flange in non-perpendicular fashion, and a third flange extending outwardly from the second flange in non-perpendicular fashion. A fourth flange extends along a length of the second flange and acts as a rain stop. Diagonal as well as vertical channels may be located on the second flange.

  • Patent number: 6223489
Abstract: A construction block cap is used to cap the outer periphery of a construction block structure in order to permit the structure to be easily drop glazed into a frame. The construction block cap has a base member with a pair of flanges extending along and upwardly therefrom. A flange structure extends along and upwardly from the base member between the pair of flanges. The flange structure can be a single flange or a pair of flanges. The pair of flanges and the flange structure form a pair of parallel inner channels that receive the spacing flanges of the construction blocks used to make the construction block structure while the pair of flanges form a pair of outer channels that receive the cut edges of the cut faces of a construction block. Optional lips on the various flanges help hold the construction blocks in place and seal the structure within the frame.

  • Patent number: 6026621
Abstract: A muntin for attachment to a construction block structure is constructed of a tubular member having a top and a bottom. A channel extends along the length of the bottom. At least one prong, having a generally triangular head extends outwardly from the channel. The muntin is placed into a grout groove of the construction block structure such that the prong and head are received within the grout and the grout seeps into the channel. Once the grout dries, the muntin is securely held to the construction block structure.

  • Patent number: 5987829
Abstract: A construction block comprises parallel faces joined by four side edges. Two side edges have outer spacing flanges while the other two sides have inner spacing flanges. Hook receptacles are located on the lower portion of the inner spacing flanges and face away each other, while corresponding hooks are located along the outer spacing flanges and are adapted to be received within a corresponding hook receptacle when the a construction block is interconnected with the another of the construction block. A structural bar is positionable within the recess of the inner spacing flanges.

  • Patent number: 5778620
Abstract: A construction block comprises parallel faces joined by four side edges. Two side edges have outer spacing flanges while the other two side edges have inner spacing flanges. The inner flanges are received within a recess defined by the outer flanges. Hook receptacles located on the lower portion of the outer spacing flanges receive hooks located along the length of the inner spacing flanges when two blocks are interconnected, holding the two blocks firmly to each other. The interfacing flanges provide spacing support and integrity and a location for flange to flange ultrasonic spot welding. A structural bar is positionable within the recess of the inner spacing flanges.
