  • Publication number: 20230140619
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for filters, filter systems, methods of using filter systems, and methods of detecting targeting airborne particles, and the like. The present disclosure provides for filters that can capture one or more types of targeted airborne particulates, where the presence of each of the targeted airborne particulates can then be detected. The filters can be used in industrial gas systems, laboratory gas systems, HVAC systems, portable filter systems, respirator systems, and other residential, commercial, or industrial air circulation or air control systems.

  • Publication number: 20220349805
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting a composition of airborne particles. The method includes directing, with a pump, gas including particulate matter through a filter including an indicator dye. The method further includes causing a color change in the filter based on the particulate matter binding to the indicator dye. The method further includes transmitting, with an optical source, an optical signal at the filter. The method further includes detecting, with an imaging device, a reflected signal from the filter. The method further includes determining, with a processor, a value of a parameter of the particulate matter based on the color change, wherein the color change is based on the detected reflected signal.
