Abstract: A system finishing method of a host apparatus communicating with an image forming apparatus for performing a printing operation, comprises: selecting system-finishing in an OS (operation system) of the host apparatus; confirming the presence or absence of a printing operation of the host apparatus; and if it is confirmed that there exists the printing operation of the host apparatus, displaying a finish selection message indicating an after-print system finish item. Thus, the present invention provides a host apparatus, which is capable of promoting user's convenience at the time of system-finishing of the host apparatus by providing a user with a finish selection message indicating that the host apparatus is automatically finished after a printing operation is completed, when the user selects the system-finishing of the host apparatus during the printing operation, and a system finishing method thereof.

Abstract: A printing system and an image forming device are provided for printing an electronic document, and an electronic document printing method thereof. The printing system includes an electronic document providing server for providing an electronic document, and a host computer having a first interface for receiving the electronic document from the electronic document providing server, a driver for setting print options and generating printing data according to the set print options when an electronic document print function corresponding to the received electronic document is selected, and a second interface for transferring the generated printing data. The printing system further includes an image forming device for printing the received printing data according to the set print options based upon the electronic document print function. The user can print the electronic document with optimal print quality without having to change the print options of the driver and the image forming device.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of performing maintenance operations using a usage pattern and a method for the same. The method for performing a maintenance operation of cleaning a printing unit of the image forming apparatus comprises the steps of recording printing work information when a command for the maintenance operation is entered as usage pattern information, counting and recording the printing work information of printing data upon input of a printing command, and comparing the usage pattern information with the counted printing work information. When they correspond to each other, the maintenance operation is performed. Accordingly, maintenance operations can be conveniently performed according to a pattern of maintenance operation commands by the user.

Accordingly, a font is prevented from being distorted when the borderless function is applied.

Abstract: A terminal device displays a messenger window by executing a messenger program. The terminal device includes a messenger window generation unit for generating and displaying a messenger window on a screen by executing a predetermined messenger program, a printing option setting unit for displaying a printing option setting menu for setting printing options of conversation messages displayed on the messenger window, an editing unit for editing the conversation messages according to the printing option set through the printing option setting menu, and a printer driver unit for converting the edited conversation messages to a print file interpretable by a predetermined printer and transmitting the print file to the printer. Accordingly, the conversation messages can be edited and printed through the messenger window.

The image forming device has a mode selector to allow a user to select one of a plurality of printing modes, and a controller. Abstract: A method of reporting print options in a printing system, which includes an image forming apparatus to execute printing operation, a display apparatus, a storing medium, and a host computer to transmit print data to the image forming apparatus includes changing one or more print options in the printing system, in which the changing of print options is performed by an user, and selecting help information corresponding to the print options changed by the user from help information previously stored in the storing medium and outputting the selected help information through the image forming apparatus using the host computer when the printing operation is performed after the print options have been changed. According to this method, whenever a user performs the printing operation after changing one or more printing options of a printer, the help information corresponding to the changed printing options is presented through a monitor or a printer.
