  • Patent number: 4481614
Abstract: A velocity correction apparatus for a disc record player includes a permanent magnet attached to a cartridge mounted pickup arm and an electromagnetic coil secured in a cartridge supporting carriage. The coil is fixed to a supporting member which conformally engages structural features of the cartridge to guarantee proper alignment of coil and magnet. The coil support is mounted to permit limited rotation thereof to facilitate installation of the cartridge in the carriage and is mechanically biased to maintain coil-cartridge engagement and to maintain the cartridge in its normally operative position in the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4364121
Abstract: A pickup cartridge is received in a compartment provided in a translatable carriage of a video disc player. The spacing between the cartridge and the compartment walls is such that access to the cartridge is not permitted while the cartridge is contained therein. A grasp tab is disposed on the top wall of the cartridge to allow installation (and subsequent removal) of the cartridge into the carriage compartment.

  • Patent number: 4342109
Abstract: In a video disc player, a support roller is mounted to one end of a pickup carriage by means of an eccentric stud. The height of the roller in respect of the carriage is adjusted by changing the angular position of the eccentric stud. A support bracket is disposed at the other end of the carriage, where a pair of adjustable members are provided for adjustment of the relative spatial position of the carriage and the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 4333174
Abstract: In a video disc player, a mechanism, responsive to opening of the carriage lid, retracts a carriagemounted transducer to accommodate a pickup cartridge in a compartment provided in a pickup arm carriage. When the lid is closed, the subject mechanism advances the transducer to effect a secure engagement between the transducer and the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4202594
Abstract: In an RF coaxial connector assembly, apparatus is provided for mounting a washer-like capacitor. The capacitor is used for providing DC and low frequency isolation between the outer conductor of the connector and the device to which the connector is attached. The mounting apparatus comprises an insulating sleeve for containing the washer-like capacitor. The apparatus further comprises a mechanism for locking the capacitor in place within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4164782
Abstract: A record cover comprises a jacket and a record retaining tray removably received within the jacket. A cover latching mechanism locks the tray to the jacket to prevent indiscriminate access to the enclosed record. When a record occupied cover is inserted into the player, unlocking members provided in the player defeat the latching mechanism for allowing separation of the tray from the jacket during subsequent jacket withdrawal to cause retention of the enclosed record in the player for playback.
