  • Patent number: 4235761
Abstract: A water-insoluble thermoplastic composition for rigidly holding and supporting elements or parts during machining comprises a composition of a natural wax, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, hydrogenated glyceride and a water-insoluble thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin. The composition may also contain filler materials. Compositions of this invention are characterized by improved adhesion, longer stability, better viscosity control and faster set times.

  • Patent number: 4144075
Abstract: Investment casting wax compositions having improved properties and characteristics and improved usefulness in investment casting processes comprises base wax compositions having incorporated therein hexamethylenetetramine, HMTA, as a filler in an amount of from about 5 to 60% by weight based on the weight of the final composition.

  • Patent number: 4098652
Abstract: A method for electroforming and electrodischarge machining uses, an electrically conductive thermoplastic wax composition which can act as an electrode on which a metal article may be electroformed and as an electrode mount for the metal article to be electrodischarge machined. The electrically conductive thermoplastic wax composition comprises a thermoplastic wax material and very small spherical particles the surface of which have been treated to make them electrically conductive. The electrically conductive thermoplastic wax composition is easily separated from the metal articles formed by electroforming or electrodischarge machining (EDM) by heating to melting temperature and/or by use of a suitable solvent for the thermoplastic wax. In this way, the composition may readily be recovered for repeated reuse in another electroforming or EDM process, and accurately formed finished articles having intricate shapes and close tolerances can be produced.
