  • Publication number: 20220413579
Abstract: A wireless device includes a voltage regulator circuit configured to generate a voltage signal of a first input voltage, and a wireless baseband processing circuitry (WBPC) coupled to the voltage regulator circuit to receive the voltage signal. The WBPC is configured to process signals for transmission or reception using wireless technology. The WBPC includes a sub-system processor circuit configured to detect a wireless bandwidth of an application executing on an application processor of the wireless device; determine a second input voltage based on the wireless bandwidth of the application and a maximum voltage supported by the WBPC; and encode a feedback signal for communication to the voltage regulator circuit. The feedback signal causes adjustment of the voltage signal to the second input voltage.

  • Publication number: 20220345168
Abstract: Methods and device to implement the use of proximity sensor data and time-averaging specific absorption rate methods in determining whether to apply or remove a power back-off to a radio frequency transmitter. The methods and devices may be configured to detect whether a body is proximately located based on obtained proximity sensor data; define an upper threshold for a radio frequency (RF) transmit power and a lower threshold for the RF transmit power; calculate an average power of an RF transmitter over a fixed time period; and based on whether the body is detected, the average power, and a comparison of the average power to the upper threshold or the lower threshold, determine whether to apply or remove a power back-off to the RF transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20220200133
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing host-centric antenna control. An apparatus may include a plurality of antennas for wireless transmission and reception, a wireless modem for processing a signal for wireless transmission and reception via the antennas, a processor (host), and an antenna tuner circuitry. The processor is configured to run an antenna tuner software module configured to generate a control signal to configure at least one antenna. The antenna tuner circuitry is configured to switch or tune the at least one antenna based on the control signal. The apparatus may include at least one sensor coupled to the processor. The antenna tuner software module may be configured to generate the control signal based on inputs from the at least one sensor. The antenna tuner software module may be configured to receive RF parameters from the wireless modem and generate the control signal based on the RF parameters.

  • Publication number: 20220166166
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include a modified M.2 interface that is configured to allow an increased current capacity on power-carrying pins. The power-carrying pins are implemented using an alloy that can sustain current levels in excess of those specified in the M.2 standard while remaining within M.2 standard specified temperature limits. Sockets and corresponding cards in embodiments are modified so that a card requiring the higher current capacity cannot fit into a legacy M.2 standard socket, while a legacy M.2 card can fit into a modified high current M.2 socket. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Publication number: 20220095237
Abstract: A wireless communication device includes one or more processors, configured to determine one or more first transmission power measurements within a first transmission power measurement sampling period; calculate a first transmission power factor, the first transmission power factor representing a central tendency of the one or more first transmission power measurements from the first power measurement sampling period; determine a second power measurement during a second transmission power measurement sampling period; and calculate a second transmission power factor, wherein the second transmission power factor is a central tendency of at least one of the one or more first power measurements and the second power measurement.
