    Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for detection timeout of each channel, which is a socket connection, in a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Offload Engine (TOE) using TCP accelerating hardware, and a method thereof. The timer managing apparatus of the TOE using the TCP accelerating hardware, including: a command register for receiving a command for a retransmission timer or a delayed ACK timer from an embedded processor of the TOE; a finite state machine (FSM) for storing information of a timer in operation by analyzing the command for the retransmission timer or the delayed ACK timer stored in the command register and controlling an entire operation of the timer managing apparatus; and a timeout checker for checking timeout of a timer in operation by using the stored timer information and notifying the timeout to the FSM.

    Abstract: Provided are a content-based searching method and system for multimedia objects using a high-dimensional feature vector data based on a 2-level signature. The method for searching the high-dimensional data using a signature file includes calculating a first-level query signature and a second-level query signature by using the query feature vector, performing a first filtering operation to obtain a primary candidate cell group by searching a second-level signature file, and performing a secondary filtering operation to obtain a secondary candidate cell group having a high similarity in a primary candidate cell group. Accordingly, the high-dimensional data searching method and system can process a query quickly and accurately and can increase the searching accuracy by using an enhanced signature of the query feature vector.

    Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for automatically generating a SELinux security policy based on SELT. In the method, process generation is prepared by receiving execution file names of a program destined for policy generation. A system call log, which is traced by generating a process by executing the received execution file of the program, is stored. The traced system call log is purified into data necessary for generation of a security policy. Objects are grouped in consideration of the relationship between the objects based on purified information. A normalized data structure is recorded in an SELT description language format using a security policy file. Duplication and collision between the generated SELT security policy and the previous security policy in a system are detected.

The network scheduler selectively supports a work conserving mode to network scheduling units (NSUs) serving as network entities by using a token bucket scheme, such that the network scheduler ensures an allocated network bandwidth or enables the NSUs to use a remaining bandwidth. The network scheduler manages the NSUs by classifying the NSUs into a green state, a red state, a yellow state, and a black state according to a token value, a selection/non-selection of the work conserving mode, and an existence/non-existence of the packet request to be processed.

    Abstract: Provided are a method and a system for managing a file metadata, which are independent of a address change of a data server and movements of a disk by using a location of disk where data exists actually as a location information of a file data. The method for managing the file metadata includes determining whether the request of the metadata is valid, verifying information of a disk storing a file data corresponding to the metadata and a data server address in which the file data exists, and transmitting the verified address of the data server to the client. According to the method and the system for managing the file metadata, data services can be continuously provided without modifications of a file metadata even if the data server address is changed.

    Abstract: Provided are a microprocessor based on event-processing instruction set and an event-processing method using the same. The microprocessor includes an event register controlling an event according to an event-processing instruction set provided in an instruction set architecture (ISA) and an event controller transmitting externally generated events into the microprocessor.
