Optical characteristics are compensated in different domains, so that the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device is increased. The display quality of the liquid crystal display device is improved by adjusting the shape and position of the domain dividers and the spacers.

The first inspection size and second inspection size function as comparison units if defects are detected. The substrate may face an image receiving member.
