Abstract: Provided are an image forming method using a universal printer driver and a device for performing the image forming method. According to the method, printing data may be output through an image forming device supporting a desired printing option, without checking printing options of image forming devices whenever the printing data is to be output, by providing a user interface displaying printing options supported by image forming devices connected to a host device in which a universal printer driver is installed; selecting at least one printing option from the provided user interface; and selecting on of the image forming devices determined to support the selected printing option and outputting printing data through the selected image forming device supporting the selected printing option.

Abstract: A user terminal and a file list providing method therefore, the user terminal having a driver installed to control an image forming apparatus, wherein the driver includes a user interface unit to input a specified folder and a list providing method from a user; a list creation unit to create a list of files in the inputted specified folder; and a control unit to control the created list to be outputted according to the inputted list providing method. Thus, the efficiency of managements on mass storage media can be provided.

Abstract: A font-size changing and printing method and a host and a printer therefor are provided. The present invention receives a before-change font size in a unit of font size generally used in software applications and an after-change font size in a unit which a user is familiar with, converts the inputted after-change font size to correspond to the unit of the inputted before-change font size, searches for the inputted before-change font size out contained in data for printing, changes the searched font size to the converted after-change font size and prints the data for printing. The present invention receives font sizes in the unit which the user is familiar with, and changes the font size and prints data in the changed font size, thereby enhancing a user's convenience.

Abstract: A file management method and apparatus to prevent accidental damage to driver files necessary to drive a device, such as a printer or a scanner, which is connected to a terminal, such as a PC. The file management method includes receiving a request to perform an operation on the file, searching information regarding a plurality of files necessary to drive a device connected to the terminal in a storage unit, and determining whether the file is a file necessary to drive the device based on the information. If the file is determined to be a file necessary to drive the device, the operation is not performed on the file. The information regarding a set of driver files is stored in a memory. Then, if a request to delete a predetermined file stored in the memory is issued, it is determined whether the predetermined file is a driver file by examining the driver files stored in the memory. Thereafter, the predetermined file is deleted only if it is not a driver file.
