  • Publication number: 20120222771
Abstract: Systems and methods for onsite manufacture of a composite pipeline. In one embodiment, a method for constructing a pipeline includes arranging a plurality of sections of tubing at or near to a location where the pipeline is to be finally installed. An end of a first of the sections of tubing axially abuts an end of a second of the sections of tubing. The abutting ends of the first and second of the sections of tubing are joined. A continuous strip of material is wrapped in a helical pattern over the length of the joined first and second of the sections of tubing to form a pipeline segment.

  • Patent number: 7243686
Abstract: A hose (10) comprising a tubular body (12) of flexible material arranged between an inner and an outer helically wound wire (22, 24). The hose (10) further comprises an axial strengthening means (20) adapted to reduce deformation of the tubular body (12) when the tubular body (12) is subjected to axial tension, the axial strengthening means (20) being adapted to exert a radially inward force on at least part of the tubular body (12) when axial strengthening means (20) is subjected to axial tension.

  • Publication number: 20060070871
Abstract: There is provided a method for implementing a cathodic protection system for an underground storage tank. A DC voltage source provides a test current between the installed anode and storage tank resulting in the flow of electrical current. If the output is above a defined value, an automatic control DC power supply has sufficient voltage capacity to deliver the required current. If the anode test currents fall below the required minimum current, additional anode(s) are installed as set forth in a pre-engineered table. The method allows for the installation of a cathodic protection system by technicians and other non-experts.
