  • Patent number: 10469501
Abstract: Example implementations relate to multi-protocol access control lists. In an example, a multi-protocol access control list (ACL) is maintained in an extended attribute of an object stored in a file store. The multi-protocol ACL holds a primary ACL in a format associated with a primary protocol of a file store and a secondary ACL in a format associated with a secondary protocol.

  • Publication number: 20090228999
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-human transgenic mammal that is useful for the production of a protein of interest that may be toxic to the mammal. The mammal is characterized by the fact that it is transgenic for the production in its milk of an inactive form of the protein of interest, preferably recombinant human insulin. It is not possible to produce recombinant human insulin in transgenic mammals since this molecule has a certain degree of biological activity in the mammals and could be toxic to the mammal. Thus, the invention involves cloning a genetic construct comprising a sequence encoding a modified human insulin precursor under the control of a beta casein promoter in an expression vector. It also involves transfecting the expression plasmid into fetal bovine somatic cells, such as fibroblasts, and enucleating bovine oocytes by nuclear transfer to generate transgenic embryos.

  • Patent number: 7131155
Abstract: An apparatus for a diaper changing table 12 that can be selectively deployed by individuals 14 to aid in their toiletry needs. While the device 10 can be installed in any bathroom 16, preferably it is intended to be installed in public bathrooms whereby, in addition to the normal infant-child needs, adults, seniors and the disabled are afforded privacy in conducting their toiletry needs thereby resulting in an opportunity for them to experience integration and participation in society. The device 10 accommodates a full-sized adult 14 (length and weight wise) by providing a housing frame 20 that is fixedly fastened to the floor 18, as opposed to the walls, which results in a device with a small foot print having a handle 30 for pivotally deploying the table portion 12 having a plurality of cantilevered support members with integral tensioning members aiding in the deployment.

  • Patent number: 6281315
Abstract: The present patent of invention describes the obtention of lasers in solid condition of dyes of the family of Rhodamines. More particularly, it describes lasers in which said dye or chromophore is to be found covalently anchored to a solid matrix, consisting in a transparent organic polymer and suficiently stable to the pumping radiation. Its application is the production of the laser emittance by an organic dye in a solid matrix and polymers containing rhodamines.

  • Patent number: 5325822
Abstract: A tankless, flow-through electric water heater whose housing is designed for modular application, where serially connected modules define the path of the fluid being heated, in this case water, through the heater from inlet to final outlet. Each module contains two separate chambers and each chamber is provided with an electric immersion type heating element. The first and last chambers will also have a temperature sensor which will signal an electronic temperature control system. The temperature sensor in the first and last chambers provides signal inputs to energize each heating element of each chamber for a period of time proportional to the temperature difference between first chamber and the desired set leaving temperature of the water, which is set by an adjustable temperature controller (potentiometer), included in this control system. This control system also has a minimum setting point for a "no flow" condition or for the prevention of water freezing, where extreme weather conditions exist.
