    Abstract: This invention is generally directed to a method, system and computer program product for commissioning an RTD. The method comprises entering identification data and machine information for an RTD into a database, importing scan data measuring beam characteristics, entering additional data from measurement results generated by test equipment measuring aspects of the RTD's beam into the RTD database, creating a Data Book in the database comprising output factors, transmission factors and processed scan data; comparing information in the Data Book with information according to a predefined standard for commissioning the RTD, comparing a treatment plan MU based on a set of treatment parameters to the RTD MU calculated using the set of treatment parameters, and commissioning the RTD based at least in part on if the comparing meets the predefined standard and if the MU calculated by the RTD is within an acceptable range of the treatment plan MU.
