  • Publication number: 20200311547
Abstract: A control system for automatic operation of a coker, the control system. The control system includes a drum feeder operable to modulate a feed of oil into a coke drum of the coker. The control system further includes a controller with a processing circuit. The processing circuit obtains a target coke rate indicating a target rate at which to accumulate coke within the coke drum. The processing circuit further uses a neural network model to generate a target coker feed rate predicted to result in the coke accumulating within the coke drum at the target coke rate. The target coker feed rate indicates a target rate at which to feed the oil into the coke drum. The processing circuit further operates the drum feeder using the target coker feed rate to modulate the feed of oil into the coke drum.

  • Publication number: 20200016325
Abstract: A system and method for calibrating an IV pump infusion system tube comprises a fluid source, an infusion system comprising, an IV pump, a drive unit, a chamber with known constant volume, a control unit, and IV tubing with a known inner diameter tolerance, and a set of conductive plates. The system administers medicinal fluid, calculates the flow rate of the medicinal fluid in the chamber by measuring the time the capacitance level of the medicinal fluid changes from a capacitance level corresponding to a first (initial) position to a capacitance level corresponding to a second (filled) position, compares the calculated flow rate with a set flow rate of the IV pump input in the control unit prior to infusion, and adjusts the IV pump and flow rate based on the compared deviations for more accurate delivery to a patient. This configuration may therefore provide a more precise delivery rate.

  • Publication number: 20190275236
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the aseptic delivery of a solution in a wearable form factor is disclosed. A patch pump may include a start button that, upon activation, causes an elastic fluid path to move. The elastic fluid path may include a first end that moves along a first plane to penetrate a solution container as well as a second end that moves, concurrently, along a second plane to penetrate a user's tissue. The elastic fluid path may maintain its flow resistance during the concurrent movement. The patch pump's housing may include a door with an opening configured to enable the second end to penetrate a user via the opening. The door may open when the device is removed from the user such that a portion of the open door may extend further than the second end of the elastic fluid path to prevent exposure of the second end.
