Abstract: The invention provides a latex composition having a natural latex, a synthetic latex, a filler, and certain additives. A latex composition of the invention applied to a substrate allows the finished substrate to have improved wash durability. Fabrics and products comprising the latex composition are also provided. In particular, a rug manufactured from fabrics that have been coated with the latex composition may undergo at least 100 wash cycles without sustaining any significant structural deterioration, deterioration in softness and contact absorption, and/or substantial impairment to the functionality of the applied latex composition.

Abstract: A floor mat and a method of making the floor mat are provided. The method may include forming a foam polyvinyl chloride body of a floor mat. The body may be embossed to form one or more thicker and thinner regions of the body. Moreover the thicker and thinner regions may be arranged to define panels and folding lines of the body such that the panels are foldable relative to each other. In some embodiments, the body may include a plurality of fold lines between adjacent panels to allow for a large folding radius. Other operations of the method may include embroidering a design onto the body or attaching a fabric layer to a top surface of the body of the floor mat.

Abstract: The doormat is fabricated from a sheet of material. An integral non-skid latex backing layer is formed on the rear surface of the material sheet. The backed material sheet forms the central section of the doormat. A separate fabric border is fabricated with mitered corners. The fabric border is folded around the edge of the backed central section and the folded fabric border is stitched to the central section. The backing layer is composed from latex foam. The foam is formed from liquid latex obtained by combining water and a solid mix comprising natural rubber with soap, filler, a thickening agent and an accelerator and then mixing the liquid latex with air. The foam is sprayed on the rear surface of the material sheet and then cured by heating the foam layer with steam and exposure to infra-red radiation to form a paste layer. The paste layer is then embossed and dried.
