  • Publication number: 20240073811
Abstract: A proactive energy-saving processing in an access point (AP) device is described. The AP monitors/computes usage/operating parameters (load factors) of the AP, and based on the obtained parameters, adjusts one or more AP operating parameters to reduce power consumption. The process is proactive in the sense that the current conditions in the AP do not require scaling back AP functionality. Nonetheless, the AP can scale back some functionality to reduce its power consumption, proactively, despite the absence of a need to do so.

  • Publication number: 20230413053
Abstract: A networking system may disrupt an unauthorized wireless connection to the network. In particular, the networking system may detect a wireless connection between a client device and an unauthorized wireless access point. The networking system may receive a probe request management frame from the client device. The network system may, responsive to the detection of the wireless connection, send a probe response management frame to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20230388826
Abstract: A networking system may include one or more wireless access points. A wireless access point may monitor, on a channel in a radio-frequency band, for activity of an interference source over a time period. The wireless access point may maintain historical activity information of the interference source for the channel based at least in part on the activity of the interference source over the time period. The wireless access point may perform a channel selection operation based at least in part on the maintained historical activity information of the interference source for the channel.

  • Publication number: 20230354397
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for applying quality metrics for resource unit (RU) allocation in connection with a wireless access point (AP). In response to detecting threshold utilization of an AP by multiple wireless clients, an RU score is initialized. For each initialized RU score, an updated RU score is periodically computed. To perform this computation several steps are performed. First, RU quality metrics are received. Next, each quality metric is multiplied by an associated weighting coefficient. Finally, the quality products are summed to provide an updated RU score. In response to determining that a puncture candidate RU has a puncture candidate RU score below a predetermined threshold, one or more RUs are punctured or otherwise de-prioritized. A request to assign new RUs is received. In response to the request to assign the new RUs, the new RUs are assigned based on the periodically updated RU scores.

  • Patent number: 11783610
Abstract: A method comprises determining instance bounds associated with each of one or more structural elements in a document using a machine learning model. The method further comprises determining an error in the instance bounds associated with a particular one of the one or more structural elements. The method further comprises correcting the error in the instance bounds associated with the particular structural element using document content associated with the particular structural element, thereby generating corrected instance bounds associated with the particular structural element. The method further comprises generating a structural map of the document based on the corrected instance bounds.

  • Publication number: 20230292248
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for controlling an operating configuration of a network device such as a wireless access point include detecting power supplied to the access point. Operating parameters of the access point, neighboring access points, and client devices wirelessly connected to the access point are determined. The access point is placed in a reduced-capability operating configuration in response to detecting the power supplied is less than a power threshold. The reduced-capability operating configuration is based on the determined operating parameters of the access point, neighboring access points, and client devices.

  • Publication number: 20220377679
Abstract: Transmission thresholds for IEEE 802.11ax Spatial Reuse (SR) opportunities are set adaptively. A group retry rate is defined and used to quantify the level of interference in a Spatial Reuse Group (SRG). Access points in the SRG update their OBSS-PDmax thresholds so as to keep the group retry rate value acceptably low. Access points transmit during an SR opportunity subject to the constraints imposed by the updated OBSS-PDmax.

  • Patent number: 11477803
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for improving communication efficiency in environments featuring both 802.11ax devices and legacy devices. Although 802.11ax introduces the ability for multiple devices to transmit simultaneously over a wireless channel, this feature is not used to its full potential because legacy devices transmit using turn-based communication (waiting for the channel to free up before transmitting). To create the illusion that the channel is free, in one method, an 802.11ax access point lowers the power for 802.11ax transmissions in a portion of a wireless channel being utilized by the legacy device. In another method, the 802.11ax access point blanks the portion of the wireless channel altogether (i.e., does not schedule transmissions over the portion). As a result of these methods, signal interference is reduced, and legacy devices do not halt transmissions to follow turn-based communication.

  • Publication number: 20220225474
Abstract: Generating access point-specific spatial reuse groups for a given access point (AP) includes identifying radio frequency (RF) proximate to the given AP. The given AP uses a predefined threshold value to compare against the received signal strength indicators (RSSIs) of detected signals transmitted by other APs to identify RF proximate APs. The given AP can broadcast a spatial reuse group bitmap that identifies the RF proximate APs so that stations associated with the given AP can determine whether to transmit in a channel that is already occupied by an AP.

  • Patent number: 11321559
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for identifying document structural elements and correcting errors in the classification and/or location of the identified structural elements. An example method includes determining location and classification for a structural element on a page of the document using a machine learning (ML) model; determining one or more errors in the location and/or classification for the structural element; and correcting each instance of the one or more errors using other content in the document (e.g., content spatially adjacent to the corresponding structural element on the page of the document). The method may further include storing the document and the location and classification (as corrected), and/or generating a structural map of the page of the document based on the location and classification (as corrected). The use of the document content to correct errors greatly enhances the agreement between the identified structural elements and the original document.

  • Patent number: 10952226
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a systems and methods for concurrent wireless transmission. In one embodiment the present disclosure includes a wireless transmission method. A first wireless device may determine that a first wireless transmission using a first protocol between a plurality of wireless devices is not intended for processing by the first wireless device. The first wireless device may determine if a first power level of the first wireless transmission is below a threshold. The first wireless device may perform a second wireless transmission using a second protocol between the first wireless device and at least a second wireless device during the first wireless transmission when the first power level is below the threshold. A second power level of the second wireless transmission may be set to a first value determined based on the threshold. In other embodiments, techniques for sending packets concurrently are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10296635
Abstract: Techniques and systems for auditing and augmenting user-generated tags for digital content are described. A corpus is generated for each tag associated with digital content to represent different aspects of the tag's definition. A hierarchy of semantic relationships between the tags is created based a corpus co-occurrence between the tags to relate at least two tags having different levels of specificity. Some of the tags are verified with the digital content based on feature detection, and a correspondence to the digital content is determined for each verified tag. The correspondence of the verified tags is then propagated up the hierarchy to others of the tags that are semantically related to the verified tags but which were not verified by the feature detection. The verified tags and the verified other tags are then assigned to the digital content to control how the digital content is retrieved when subject to a search.

  • Patent number: 9913179
Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a method and system to trigger UE handover in a radio communication network including a serving base station and a plurality of candidate base stations. The serving base station shares uplink transmission information associated with the UE with the candidate base stations. A candidate base station detects the presence of the UE located in radio coverage of the candidate base station by obtaining information from the uplink transmission of the UE. Further, the candidate base station computes a second parameter and sends to the serving base station. The serving base station determines to trigger handover procedure when the second parameter meets handover criteria. Further, the serving base station sends handover command to the UE after determining that the second parameter meets handover criteria.
