  • Patent number: 11941928
Abstract: An access control device and a method for operating an access control device are provided. The access control device includes a detection sensor, a communication module, and a processor. The detection sensor is configured to detect a status event (e.g., a rotation of a handle, or an insertion or closure of a keybox). The communication module is in wireless communication with a mobile device. The communication module is configured to receive an advertising signal from the mobile device. The processor is in communication with at least one of the detection sensor and the communication module. The processor is configured to determine whether a distance between the mobile device and the access control device is greater than a threshold when the detection sensor detects the status event. The processor is configured to trigger a notification when the distance is greater than the threshold.

  • Patent number: 11816943
Abstract: An access control system including a building management system in communication with a wireless device, a smart lighting system and a locking device, wherein the building management system communicates and assigns a lighting attribute to at least one of the wireless device, the smart lighting system and the locking device; and method for providing visually aided access to a building location including: assigning a lighting attribute by a building management system to a user; communicating the lighting attribute from the building management system to a wireless device of the user; displaying the lighting attribute on the wireless device; communicating the lighting attribute to a smart lighting system in communication with the building management system, to display the lighting attribute; and terminating the lighting attribute when a locking device in communication with the building management system has been opened by the user.

  • Publication number: 20220092900
Abstract: An access control system and a method for operating an access control system are provided. The access control system includes a first access control device and a second access control device, each configured to receive a signal (e.g., an access credential) from a user device. The signal has a first signal strength at the first access control device and a second signal strength at the second access control device. Each of the first access control device and the second access control device include a processor configured to compare the first signal strength and the second signal strength to determine whether the first access control device or the second access control device is closest to the user device. The processor of the access control device closest to the user device may be configured to determine whether the access credential is authorized.

  • Publication number: 20210325188
Abstract: A system and a method for guiding a user through a safe exit path on an occurrence of a fire event in a premises. A method includes receiving instructions related to a fire event inside a premise from an access control database. Also, the access control database receives information related to the fire event from a fire control panel. The access control determines one or more safe exit paths based on the information related to the fire event. The method further includes selecting a safe exit path from the one or more safe exit paths and guiding a user of a mobile device through the safe exit path using augmented reality.

  • Publication number: 20210216918
Abstract: A method of occupancy room sensors includes obtaining a reservation for a meeting location, the reservation at a meeting time and reserved by a user. It is determined whether the meeting location is occupied within a first threshold time period subsequent to the meeting time. Based on determining that the meeting location is not occupied within the first threshold time period, an alert is sent to the user. The alert includes a reminder of the meeting location and the meeting time. It is determined whether the meeting location is occupied within a second threshold time period subsequent to the meeting time. The second threshold time period is longer than the first threshold time period. It is requested that the reservation be cancelled based at least in part on determining that the meeting location is not occupied within the second threshold time period.
