The method comprises receiving transmissions representative of the reception of casino chips within a groove of a dealer tray, keeping count of the number of chips within the groove at any given time by keeping count of the number of transmissions received, aggregating the values of the individual chips within the groove at any given time and displaying the count and the aggregated value of the chips on a display panel located on the dealer tray.
