    Abstract: A wireless adapter enables a camera or other digital camera without inherent networking capability to post or send images to a remote destination. The wireless adaptor comprises a wireless interface for communicating with a remote destination over a wireless network, a camera interface to interface the wireless adaptor to a camera, and a file transfer agent. The file transfer agent uses the wireless interface to transfer the image data received from the digital camera to a destination device. In at least one embodiment, the file transfer agent emulates one or more printers, with each emulated printer corresponding to a different destination. With that configuration, the wireless adaptor transfers image data received from the digital camera to a selected destination based on which emulated printer is selected by the digital camera. Destination parameters for multiple destinations can be loaded and stored in the wireless adaptor.

The transmit timing of the mobile terminals may be controlled by sending timing control signals to the mobile terminals over a downlink control channel. In one embodiment, the transmit timing of the uplink channel is slaved to the transmit timing on a downlink channel. In this case, the uplink timing may be controlled by adjusting the downlink transmit timing.

    Abstract: A method for rapidly processing a directed retry (“DR”) message on a mobile station while the mobile station is void of an up-to-date neighbor list or in the process of completing neighbor list measurements. In one aspect of the invention, the method comprises the steps of receiving a directed retry message on a mobile station; setting SCANINTERVAL to zero and HL_FREQ to high if an up-to-date neighbor list does not exist on the mobile station; completing at least one neighbor list measurement within a wait time period; and invoking RTC-4. The step of completing the least one neighbor list measurement is accomplished within a wait time of about four seconds. The step of completing the least one neighbor list measurement preferably comprises completing 2 neighbor list measurements. If the wait time exceeds about four seconds the mobile station reverts to camping or idle condition.

The method of message management includes the step of storing the identification code of the authorized system operator in the core memory, receiving a message with an identification code associated therewith from the radio telecommunications system, and comparing the identification code of the message with the identification code of the authorized system operator. The method further includes the step of storing the message in the protected memory only if the identification code of the message matches the identification code of the authorized system operator.
