  • Publication number: 20120106919
Abstract: A multimedia system that includes a television (TV). The TV includes an optical disc drive (ODD) that outputs raw data obtained from a medium, such as an optical disc, through a slave interface. The TV also includes a codec that processes the raw data received from the ODD. The TV includes a master interface corresponding to the slave interface, a codec device that extracts an image signal and/or an audio signal from the raw data transmitted through the interfaces, and a multimedia output device that outputs the image signal and/or the audio signal.

  • Patent number: 6304399
Abstract: An automatic head switching control method and apparatus detects whether an interval between a head switching point of time and a vertical sync signal is 6.5 horizontal sync signal intervals and repeats processes for altering head switching delay data tD, thereby generating a head switching signal having an appropriate head switching point of time and altering only a head switching point of time for one head during the repeat of the altering process. Accordingly, the velocity change of a drum motor does not occur and a control time is reduced as compared to an envelope detection type controller.

  • Patent number: 5680499
Abstract: A time lapse video cassette recorder (VCR) includes a video head, a control head for selectively recording and reproducing a control pulse, a capstan motor moving a magnetic tape at a predetermined speed, a video signal processing circuit processing a video signal which is recorded or reproduced by the video head, a horizontal frequency corrector correcting a horizontal frequency in sync with the recording stop signal to prevent the change of the horizontal frequency which is caused by the deviation of a travel angle of the video head during 12H/24H recording, and a gain controller controlling a control gain of the capstan motor according to rotation speed of the capstan motor. The video head, in an exemplary case, is a dual-azimuth quad head.

  • Patent number: 5675698
Abstract: An automatic head switching control method and apparatus in a multi-modal VCR for allowing automatic switching between a first and a second video modes (e.g., NTSC and PAL) without manual adjustment. The invention generates a head switching signal of which the head switching point of time of each head is shifted by delay data which is adapted for a first mode when the broadcast mode is the first mode. It also generates a head switching signal of which the head switching point of time of each head is shifted by corrected delay data obtained by correcting the delay data adapted for the first mode with an offset correction value when the broadcast mode is the second mode. As a result, there is no requirement for a manual adjustment and control time is shortened by maintaining the uniform velocity of the drum motor during automatic control.

  • Patent number: 5383067
Abstract: A control signal reproducing circuit which, during a VISS operation, clips a reproduced residual signal at a certain level or, controls a feedback amount of a control pulse by varying a pole value in order to reduce the cut-off frequency and (suppress high band components, thereby reducing the reproduced gain of the residual signal and preventing faulty VISS operation due to the residual signal.
