  • Patent number: 7610938
Abstract: A cylindrical rod 20 is formed by bending sheet metal 10 so as to bond together a pair of edges 12 and 14 of the sheet metal 10. The cylindrical rod 20 includes therein (i) convex portions 16 each of which protrudes from the edge 12 and includes a sub-portion whose width is larger at a side thereof more distant from the edge 12 than at a side thereof less distant from the edge 12, and (ii) concave portions 18 which are formed on the edge 14, have a shape complementary to the shape of the convex portions 16, and are fitted into the convex portions 16. A cylindrical rod which has high circularity and high linearity, in other words, which hardly has vertical and horizontal curves can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20090214388
Abstract: [Object] To provide a method for manufacturing a scale having an improved abrasion resistance, the scale, and an encoder having the same. [Solving Means] A scale base material 17 is arranged on the upper surface of a mount 26. A pattern base material 18? as a material of pattern portions 18 are laminated on the upper surface of the scale base material 17. In this laminated state, the pattern base material 18? is punched toward the scale base material 17 via a press work. Accordingly, the punched pattern base material 18? is embedded and held in a thickness of the scale base material 17, and the pattern portions 18 are formed.

  • Patent number: 7575305
Abstract: An object is to provide a fine forging method for forming partitions of recesses precisely and forming recess shapes for pressure generation chambers etc. with high accuracy as well as a liquid ejection head that is produced by using the fine forming method. A fine forging method for forming groove-shaped recesses that are arranged at a prescribed pitch. After groove-shaped recesses are formed tentatively in a material plate by a first punch in which tentative forming punches are arranged, finish forming is performed on the tentatively formed groove-shaped recesses by using a second punch in which finish forming punches are arranged. An end portion of a projection strip is formed with slant faces or a slant face, whereby an end portion of each groove-shaped recess is formed precisely. A liquid ejection head produced by the above method exhibits stable liquid ejection characteristics and its manufacturing cost can be reduced by virtue of simplified working of forging.

  • Patent number: 7543381
Abstract: A punching apparatus forms a hole at a bottom portion of each of recesses which are formed in a metal plate in advance and arrayed in a first direction. A female die supports the metal plate. A male die is opposed to the recess and provided with a punch array in which a plurality of punches in the first direction. The male die is movable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to form the hole with each of the punches. The punches include first punches each having a distal end face which is slant in the second direction. A slant angle of the distal end face corresponds to a warp of the plate member due to the formation of the recesses.
