  • Publication number: 20240226232
Abstract: Peptide-based therapies for a retinal disease, injury, or condition in a subject involve administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition containing at least one peptide derived from a heat shock protein, including Hsp20 and ?B-crystallin. The administered peptides may be acetylated and/or conjugated to a cell-penetrating peptide. Administration of the peptides may reduce or prevent the loss of at least one retinal cell type, including retinal ganglion cells and retinal endothelial cells. The loss of such cells causes retinal damage and loss of eyesight in patients afflicted with an ocular condition. • Patent number: 12028130
Abstract: Multi-beam uniform coverage in a coverage cell(s) in a wireless communications system (WCS) is provided. The WCS includes a number of wireless devices that are typically mounted on a fixed structure to provide coverage for user devices. Each wireless device includes one or more antenna arrays. Each antenna array is controlled via a set of codewords to form one or more RF beams to each cover a respective area in a coverage cell. The codewords are predetermined based on fairness and/or leakage constraints such that the RF beams can be formed in desired geometric shapes and steered toward desired directions to provide a uniform coverage in the coverage cell. By forming the RF beams based on the codewords predetermined based on fairness and/or leakage constraints, it is possible to ensure an equal RF power signal level inside the coverage cell and/or reduced power leakage outside the coverage cell.

  • Publication number: 20240214242
Abstract: A network controller in an overlay network maintains collective sets of identity-based policies and identity mappings for onboarded users of the network for informed distribution to network elements across the network. As new users are onboarded, the controller identifies a site of the network at which the user was onboarded and determines identity mappings of the user and applicable policies for distribution to a network element at the identified site. The controller assigns index values to each identity and communicates the indices to network elements with the corresponding identity mappings and policies. The network elements encapsulate cross-site traffic with the index values corresponding to senders so recipient network elements can obtain the index value from encapsulation header formats, query the controller for the corresponding identity mappings, and apply policies to the traffic that are determined to be pertinent based on the sender's identity mappings obtained from the controller.

  • Patent number: 12002345
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and an apparatus for alerting threats to users. The apparatus may capture a plurality of signals including at least one of Electro-Magnetic (E-M) signals and sound signals. The E-M signal and sound signals are used to detect objects around the user. A threat to the user is predicted based on the objects around the user and one or more alerts are generated such that the user avoids the threat. The prediction of the threat enables the user to take an action even before the threat has occurred. Also, the alerts are generated based on the prediction such that the user can avoid the threat well in advance of the occurrence of the threat.

  • Patent number: 12003409
Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for a control plane approach for dense topologies that focusses on discovering shared ECMP groups in the control plane independent of per-prefix learning and then learning prefixes via these shared ECMP groups instead of learning prefixes via one next-hop at a time. In dense topologies, this approach helps minimize BGP path scale, corresponding signaling and enables control plane scaling that is an order of magnitude higher than a traditional eBGP control plane. During link and node topology changes, the described control plane approach enables control plane signaling that is prefix independent and an order of magnitude lower. A control plane approach to path-list sharing and prefix independent signaling on link and node topology changes enables prefix independent convergence (PIC) in scenarios that would not be possible otherwise with traditional FIB driven path-list sharing and PIC.

  • Publication number: 20240171248
Abstract: Beamforming codebook synthesis in a wireless communications system (WCS) is provided. A wireless node simultaneously emits multiple reference beams in a coverage area based on a set of codewords that is optimized for a specific number of antenna elements in an antenna array. The wireless node may need to emit the reference beams using a different number of the antenna elements in the antenna array. Herein, the wireless node is configured to determine a different set(s) of codewords that is fine tuned for forming an identical number of the reference beams from a different number of the antenna elements and steered toward identical directions. In addition, the wireless node can dynamically select an appropriate set of codewords in response to different operating conditions. As such, it is possible to switch transparently, from both wireless node and end user perspectives, between different antenna array configurations under different operating conditions.
