  • Patent number: 5008030
Abstract: A stable, acidic disinfectant all-purpose liquid cleaning composition, free of detergent builders and substantially free of organic solvents, comprising a mixture of acid stable water-soluble and water-dispersible nonionic surfactants, organic acid and a water soluble, acid stable disinfectant compound in an aqueous medium. The composition spreads quickly and provides good detergency with efficient penetration of soils while maintaining a high level of disinfectant activity. A soil releasing agent may also be included in the composition in order to provide easier cleaning of the treated surface during subsequent cleaning operations. The composition is particularly effective for cleaning soap scum and mineral deposits from hard surfaces such as grout, ceramic tile, stainless steel and glass.

  • Patent number: 4971717
Abstract: Aqueous liquid automatic dishwashing detergent composition with improved anti-filming and anti-spotting properties and method of using the detergent composition. The detergent composition comprises aluminosilicate zeolite anti-filming and anti-spotting agent, inorganic or organic builder salts, chlorine bleach, bleach-stable detergent and a thickener agent. The compositions provide reduced filming and spotting on dishware, glassware, china and the like, particularly in hard water, and remain stable against phase separation.

  • Patent number: 4892673
Abstract: A non-aqueous liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition in the form of a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant is stabilized against phase separation by the incorporation of gas bubbles having an average particle size diameter of 10 to 100 microns. The gas bubbles are incorporated in an amount to equalize the densities of the continuous liquid phase and the dispersed phase. The gas bubbles are stabilized by incorporation of a stabilizer having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrocarbon group of about 5 to 21 carbon atoms,Q is a hydrogen atom, a Group IA metal, a Group IIA metal, a group having the formula --CH.sub.2 --CH(R.sup.1)--CH.sub.2 (R.sup.2), or a mixture thereof, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, independently, --OH or R-C(O)O-- (R being as defined above); anda is 1 or 2, with the proviso that a=2 only when Q is a Group IIA metal.

  • Patent number: 4889652
Abstract: A non-aqueous liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition in the form of a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant is stabilized against phase separation by the incorportation of a small amount of a vicinal-hydroxy compound. A low density filler to equalize the densities of the continuous liquid phase and the dispersed phase may be used in conjunction with the vicinal-hydroxy compound.

  • Patent number: 4836946
Abstract: The physical stability of aqueous liquid gel-like compositions based on montmorillonite, attapulgite, hectorite or other inorganic colloid-forming clay or other thixotropic thickener is greatly improved by incorporating in the composition small amounts, such as 0.1 to 0.2 weight percent of an alkali metal fatty acid salt stabilizer. The aqueous compositions containing inorganic builder salts and other functional inorganic salts, chlorine bleach, bleach-stable detergent, thixotropic thickener and an alkali metal fatty acid salt as a physical stabilizer exhibit a significant increase in apparent viscosity and remain stable against phase separation for an extended period of time. The thixotropic properties can be retained or improved using smaller levels of the clay thixotropic thickener than in the absence of the physical stabilizer. Use as liquid gel-like automatic dishwasher compositions are described.
