Abstract: A method for user management and a power plant control system for a power plant system are disclosed. The power plant control system has a central server communicatively coupled for managing a plurality of local servers that further manage one or more entities of the power plant system. The central server has user roles. One or more roles are assigned to a user to enable the user to perform one or more tasks defined in the respective user roles on the one or more entities. A list of user roles assigned to the user is provided to a specific local server for enabling the authentication of the user for performing the tasks defined in the user roles on the specific local server.
