  • Patent number: 9910736
Abstract: According to embodiments described herein, a backup server maintains backup data for a set of data, which includes data for a first block and a second block. Backup data for the first and second block include backup data for a plurality of versions of the first and second block. A distinct watermark is stored for each version of the first block and each version of the second block. In response to a request to perform a restoration operation on the set of data, a particular version of the first block and a particular version of the second block are selected to use in the restoration operation by comparing a restoration target with the watermarks of the version of the first block and second block. The selected version of the first block has a different watermark than the selected version of the second block.

  • Patent number: 9818451
Abstract: A system and method for selecting portions of video data from preview video data is provided. The system may extract image features from the preview video data and discard video frames associated with poor image quality based on the image features. The system may determine similarity scores between individual video frames and corresponding transition costs and may identify transition points in the preview video data based on the similarity scores and/or transition costs. The system may select portions of the video data for further processing based on the transition points and the image features. By selecting portions of the video data, the system may reduce a bandwidth consumption, processing burden and/or latency associated with uploading the video data or performing further processing.

  • Patent number: 9792267
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure simplify identification of potential non-visibility of user interface (UI) components when a responsive web page is rendered by disparate devices. In one embodiment, a browser is instructed to display the web page in a viewport of a desired size. Upon the browser rendering the web page in the viewport, a data structure (e.g., DOM) generated by the browser is examined to determine whether each of the components of the responsive web page is visible or non-visible within the viewport, and a corresponding visibility report is generated. The steps of instructing and examining may be performed iteratively for a number of viewports of corresponding sizes. The visibility report is then generated as a two-dimensional matrix indicating whether each component (along a first dimension) is visible or non-visible when the web page is rendered in a corresponding viewport (along a second dimension).

  • Publication number: 20170238159
Abstract: Abstract: A method and apparatus can be configured to receive a first session-initiation-protocol (SIP) message relating to an attempt to make a call. The method may include determining that the attempt to make the call is an attempt to make a multime-dia-messaging-emergency-services call. The method may include transmitting an indication of the attempt to make the multimedia-messaging-emergency-services call. The indication is transmitted to a second node. The method may also include transmitting a second session-initiation-protocol message relating to a denial of serving the multimedia-messaging-emergency-services call.

  • Patent number: 9635307
Abstract: A system and method for generating preview data from video data and using the preview data to select portions of the video data or determine an order with which to upload the video data. The system may sample video data to generate sampled video data and may identify portions of the sampled video data having complexity metrics exceeding a threshold. The system may upload a first portion of the video data corresponding to the identified portions while omitting a second portion of the video data. The system may determine an order with which to upload portions of the video data based on a complexity of the video data. Therefore, portions of the video data that may require additional processing after being uploaded may be prioritized and uploaded first. As a result, a latency between the video data being uploaded and a video summarization being received is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9612912
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for centralized tape management are provided for databases. A centralized availability machine or disk and tape backup server maintains working backup data for a plurality of database management systems (DBMSs) based on receiving, from each of the plurality of DBMSs, differential incremental updates. The updates may be at the database block level, with an index maintained to identify different versions of the blocks for snapshot recovery. The availability machine then determines a utilization schedule for distributing the working backup data to a plurality of tapes using a plurality of tape drives, and stores the working backup data as archived backup data on the plurality of tapes according to the utilization schedule. By placing each DBMS within a protection policy that indicates criteria to meet business goals with respect to tape backups, the utilization schedule can automatically schedule tape backup jobs with optimized hardware resource assignments.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to correct errors in measuring audiences of over-the-top media are disclosed. In some examples, the methods and apparatus identify a first set of data from a first data source, the first set of data different from a second set of data from a second data source. In some examples, the methods and apparatus generate a third set of data based on the second set of data from the second data source. In some examples, the methods and apparatus generate a model based on a difference between the first set of data and the third set of data. In some examples, the methods and apparatus apply the model to the first set of data. In some examples, the methods and apparatus assign viewership to an impression associated with the first set of data by imputing viewership associated with the second set of data to the first set of data.
