  • Publication number: 20140227463
Abstract: The present invention relates to a self adhesive ink jet printable polymer film. The film comprises a polymeric resin and a low surface energy additive that is in a substantially free form. The polymeric resin can be PVC, and the low surface energy additive can be silicone. The film comprising the low surface energy additive exhibits high print resolution and substantially uniform printing quality even after the print surface of the film has been in contact with a back surface of a release liner comprising residual silicone.

  • Publication number: 20110104430
Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating a construction (10) having a functional side (12). The method includes the steps of: supplying a flexible substrate (20); attaching one or more structures (30) to the substrate (20) on a surface or side thereof facing the functional side (12) of the construction (10); and forming one or more features, for example, such as fibrils (39), on at least one of the structures (30), wherein the features have at least one dimension which is at least one of micro-sized or nano-sized.

  • Publication number: 20100266837
Abstract: The invention relates to multiphase compositions of matter comprising at least an acrylic phase and a hydrocarbon phase, and more specifically to pressure sensitive adhesive compositions of matter of an acrylic-hydrocarbon polymer and an additional hydrocarbon component which has a molecular weight of at least 1,000 and may include one or both of an oligomeric hydrocarbon and a polymeric hydrocarbon.

  • Publication number: 20090295851
Abstract: Methods and/or systems for printing or otherwise evincing temporary indicia on media with disappearing inks are described along with suitable disappearing ink formulations and media constructions for executing the same. In particular embodiments, the methods and/or systems described employ a plurality of disappearing inks with different disappearing rates. In one embodiment, a barrier layer that is selectively used to cover a major surface of the media is employed to substantially block or otherwise regulate a rate of phase transitions (e.g., evaporation and/or sublimation) experienced by ink borne by the media.
