  • Publication number: 20240158210
Abstract: A fixture is described. The fixture is for detecting distances between a hook assembly and a bell mouth of a rescue hoist and magnetically coupling the hook assembly to the fixture. The fixture couples to the bell mouth such that the fixture is affixed to a main housing of the rescue hoist. A cable of the rescue hoist extends through the bell mouth and the fixture. The cable includes a distal end coupled to the hook assembly. The cable is retractable causing the hook assembly to abut the fixture. The fixture may detect the hook assembly abuts the fixture and engages one or more electromagnets. The electromagnets cause the hook assembly to magnetically couple to the fixture, preventing the hook assembly from swaying when there is slack in the cable.

  • Publication number: 20240158211
Abstract: A fixture is described. The fixture is for detecting forces between a hook assembly and a bell mouth of a rescue hoist. The fixture may then detect the force. The force may be used to provide an indication to a crew of an aircraft that the force is below a minimum homing load or above a maximum homing load.
