  • Patent number: 10137115
Abstract: This invention provides a nucleus-permeable small-molecule inhibitor, L2P4 (where L2 is 4-(4-(Diethylamino)styryl)-N-carboxymethylpyridinium chloride and P4 is an amino acid sequence comprising CAhxYFMVFGGRrRK and they were coupled through amide bond) and synthesis thereof, which effectively targets the dimerization interface of EBNA1, a critical process for the growth of EBVs and the associated tumors. The present invention also provides method of treating and imaging EBV-associated cancers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 24, 2017
Date of Patent: November 27, 2018
    Assignee: Hong Kong Baptist University

  • Patent number: 9533301
Abstract: Disclosed is a device and related method for biological manipulation. With greater particularity, disclosed is a novel device and method for uniform cellular manipulation with economies of scale and operational uniformity. The device and related method utilize a cellular wounder (101) to uniformly remove portions of a cell monolayer in a multi-well plate (303) to create uniform cell samples with reduced time and expense to the user. The multi-channel mechanical wounder is a useful tool for performing cellular wounding by providing consistent and even denudation of a defined area of monolayer of cells in standard culture plates. This easy-to-assemble and user friendly device is most applicable for high throughput screening of samples such as in the manipulation of cells for cell migration or wound healing assay preparation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 2007
Date of Patent: January 3, 2017
    Assignee: Hong Kong Baptist University
Inventors: Ying Kit Yue, Pui Yin Leung, Nai Ki Mak, Ricky Ngok Shun Wong
